Unfortunately, my windshield wasn't that clean. However, it still captured the plates just fine.

As with the A329T, the T800 next to it was left in my hot car with outside temperatures of about 35°C or 95°F. In the car, it's obviously much hotter.
I used the parking mode to test how it would perform in the heat.
Since the T800 does not have low bitrate parking mode, I use motion detection, impact detection, and time lapse at the same time.
Even with direct sunlight, it didn't stop recording while the car was parked for several hours. All 3 cameras were recording, and the UP04 was also running.
I'm happy to report that it's working as it should.

I am having problems replicating your success with night time plate capture, i think it is a result of my car having a pretty mundane headlight setup with 55 W H4 bulbs.
I was hoping a new set of headlights would improve this greatly but i have to admit i have only seen some gain.

It is rare i can resolve the plate of 2 cars in a row, it is more one now and then it seem, as if the headlights of oncoming cars also have a say, CUZ i refuse to belive so many Danes have so dirty licence plates.
This is of course regardless of CPL on or off

I heard voices that this will soon be improved. Just wait for the next update.

There are many factors that will contribute to the plate capture. Mounting location of the dashcam, headlight heigt, headlight brightness, plate height of oncoming traffic, angle of the plate, etc.

Could you kindly test If X800 is compatible with T800's rear camera (RC24)?

Unfortunately this won't work.
They both have different style of connectors.

70mai also offers a CPL filter for the T800.
This is how it arrives and looks like.

The rotation can easily be adjusted while it's mounted.

I will check how it will affect the footage in the next days.

While I like to show how well a product works, it's also important to show the negative sides.
I installed the CPL, and the plate capture at night has decreased. The daytime footage will benefit, but the nighttime plate capture took a hit.
The settings have not been changed.

All plates have been partly blurred to comply with privacy laws.

At lower speeds, the capture is fine. Oncoming traffic at night is now harder to capture.

More in the next post!

And some more pictures below. It was slightly raining.

The plates can mostly be identified in the original file size.
The forum will reduce the quality.

Upon examining the screenshot above, it appears that the t800 is clearer than the a810plus. Could it be due to an updated firmware?

They are same hardware and chipset , so I would expect it to be the same. Strange if they are on two different development streams but it could be the case

There have been several firmware updates over the past few weeks for the T800.
They are working hard on it as it seems.

I am actually wondering, since just about everyone on earth running a dashcam need a CPL filter, then they also have limitations.
So wouldn’t it be excellent if someone could make a automatic engaging / disengaging CPL filter.

This of course in front of lens as behind it like IR cut filter it can not be done.

My mind have already a few times been a torrent of thoughts in regard to how to pull such a thing off, CUZ as we all see right now the CPL do mess with the night time performance.

If it were so easy to implement, I bet we would have already seen it on the market already. It's a difficult topic, especially since the reflections are different for each car.

The T800 in combination with the UP04 will send a notification once the battery cut-off voltage is reached.
It's a nice reminder that the T800 will now stop recording.
This will work with the car's battery and the 70mai battery pack.

The T800 just got another update to version 1.1.130zww
No change log was provided.

Just some small thoughts:

The T800 has not once caused a false positive while driving. It's set to the middle setting.

Today we had 38-40°C.
Normal recording and also parking mode with everything enabled worked just fine.
Seems like the T800 has a good heat resistance.

And a small detail, the settings do not get reset with a firmware update. It's a small thing but it's so much more convenient.

I've found the 3M sticker has started to come away from the screen twice in the hot sun, that's been the only heat related issue I've had.
