A118 Novatek 96650 Full HD 1080P Car Camera DVR

My both A118 came from Foxoffer with no VIOFO splashscreen.

The first one, surely.
The second ont was ordered 3 weeks after first one.

Anyway, VIOFO splashscreen or not, only the performance of the firmware is important !

regarding this latest FW update, are there any release notes or pointers to what bugs have been fixed etc?
in other words, I'm trying to figure out if its beneficial to upgrade to this version. I'm currently on FW B40.20140523.001

That's okay, I lost mine with the update! ;)

I'll take performance over branding any day.

Wow. A proud price this is...
Seems that my A118 won't know where it is, then... ;)

Oh: I never had Viofo-Logo, eventhough I orderer from Foxoffer's July-Batch...

As I read before: better performance (and less errors) than branding... ;)

I have to ask.....what makes this GPS reciever worth $40?
It's the only one which works with the A118 - as it's a much more niche device they have to pass on development and engineering costs etc somewhere.

What are these $8 devices you've been using mate?

Whats niche about it? Surely its just an antenna unless the circuitry is also contained within the antenna rather than within the camera.

Just about to upgrade to this new firmware to see if it fixes a problem

Quick question for any other users - have you checked that you always get full recordings?

I have just done a 5hr journey and downloaded all the footage off a 64GB card and only found 15mins in movies and a hour in the RO section?

I did have problems with SD cards and have move to the recommended samsung evo cards?

What seems to happen is I get a solid recording light instead of flashing and the "timer" stops at 00:00:00 - then all of sudden it will pick up again?

my journey ran from 00:08 - 05:00 with 4 stops but these are the only files?

Motion detect off

Yes - had missed a few on a 32gb but this journey on the 64gb was the worst

Windoze user

Just updated to the new firmware and motion detect was reset to medium so I have turned that off.

FYI direct purchase from foxoffer
