A118 Novatek 96650 Full HD 1080P Car Camera DVR

Is this dash cam known to interfere with radar detectors? (I have an Escort Redline). If so, what is a safe distance to mount them apart from each other? Thx.

Did anyone noticed this issue ? (GPS Speed not reactive)
https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/a118-gps-speed-not-reactive.7467/

About TimeZone : I'm in France so I have set it to GMT+1 (Paris).
But in France we have "daylight saving time", so I have to set TimeZone to GMT+2 (Israël) for the dashcam to automatically set the right time.
Is it a problem for the GPS FIX to have a wrong TimeZone selected ?

the offset you use won't impact GPS signal, the GPS signal only ever contains time and date based on UTC/GMT zero information

Where would be the best place to place an order for a A118? Amazon UK or somewhere else? Since I recide in Europe, I'm not to keen on hassle with customs and added kost that pop up in terms of additional fees or taxes. Any significantly great updates in the pipe for this project, that should make me wait a little while longer for an improved model? :)

there's apparently a capacitor version in the works, but it will be branded Street Guardian and cost a bit more than the regular A118/B40, and not just because it has caps instead of a battery.

Hi all,
Newbie but read through probably 90% of this thread... took a while
Are all the units from different sources the same hardware? Foxoffer, Gearbest, Spytec, Coshine (Alibaba),... Are there any hardware revisions to look for? or avoid?

Those are all the same, buy from whoever you're most confident in for support I guess

My rear A118 works great as licence plate reading and also as.... face reading !! :D:D

If my car had these white protections today would be black. Black sicker, foil, or even paint.

I think Tiesfong improved the lens rotation also on horizontal (left-right) for the Tiesfong B40S

Yes! This is what I've been asking/waiting for as I can't mount cameras in the center of the windshield because of required vehicle inspection sticker behind the mirror!

the housing has been done for a while now, we haven't used it yet as the tooling needs adjusting still to suit the lens we'll be using, that should hopefully be completed before our next production is due

Good! Will be possible that the silver area around the lens to become black?

that piece has to be changed for our lens so won't be the same, I would never use silver on the front of a camera, leave that for the Chinese models

Thanks to everyone on this forum for their help. Shot a quick video after hard wiring my B40 / A118 this afternoon. I think it's going to be great for my needs:

I think the B70 or B70s model is too big.

Another interesting solution is the Tiesfong C10S or Fondim C10S (Fang Dian C10s) because just the lens part will pop down from under the windshield black dots and the display can be over the mirror.

yeah this one is a lot smaller than the B70 type, not a design I like personally but I know for some markets the pivoting lens would be a benefit

How many amps does this dash cam need, will 1A be enough?

That's more than enough, it uses less than 500ma from memory when I did a quick test
