Try without the CPL filter. If your windscreen has any type of tinting or finish applied to it the CPL can make things worse.

The forecast here for the next 10 days here have a chance of a few hours of sun in 4 days or so, my god i hate this time of the year,,,, even if otherwise i am not a colorful person then grey in grey just kill me.

Oh, another thing I've just remembered.

Make sure the lens angle is as near to 90 degrees, pointing straight ahead. If you show too much sky the EV can make the image very dull.

Finally, I wasn't expecting it to be like an Arri Alexa, but I was expecting an improvement over such an old camera.

Unfortunately camera hardware in dashcams hasn't advanced very much even since 2015.

The DOD is advertised for its night time vision. It's probably well tuned for it.
