A129 Pro firmware

It should show as 2.1. I remember that is what shown from the Android app. Also, when it goes to parking mode, it will show 1440p+FHD.

Cheers, will double check tomorrow, I tend to view the firmware version via the camera UI.

I will say running in town and city 95% will not trigger a video drop and causing any beep (viofo removed the video drop beep starting from v1.7T firmware).

I'm using 1.7T and it has beeps.

There are 3 version of 1.7T maybe we are not on the same one. The one I used doesn't trigger any beep but turn out still having the video drop

This is quite interesting issue because according to datasheet it should be pretty temperature stable accelerometer.

This problem is persistent with 1.3. Perhaps it being a Dodge Ram Diesel 2500 truck, stiffer suspension. When I did test V2.0, didn't notice it to be an issue for the short period of testing. So far, all is back to normal with 1.3, so will be sticking to it for awhile. VIOFO did acknowledge this issue and will address it. I assume it has been addressed in V2.0.

This is clip is running V2.0 - there are some trees (plenty enough) but I have never ever once had that big video drop like in your videos... Not since day 1 of having 2 A129 pro cams... Remember, I use 30fps and record only while driving. All other settings are off, and I change the firmware to new versions as they come out.

I can't confirm if your setting could replicate the video drop as I did all my test in 2560x1440 60fps high bitrate. And also shaded weather mostly won't trigger the video drop as the tree detail lose and stronger in motion blur. The video drop mostly happened when the tree detail are too sharp and clear under good sunlight

I changed mine today to 2560x1440 60fps high bitrate and still couldn;t get the drop in frames.

I wonder if it's possible only certain cams (batches) could be affected?

(Bonus idiot at the traffic lights as an extra!)

Paul.

Hey thanks for testing. Not sure how long your whole journey is. Mine trigger the video drop 3-4 times in a 6 hours road trip combine motorway and country side road (single lane road, so more packed tress along the way if you seen my posted video before).

Once again video drop but this time in a nearly static environment...... happened at around 14sec point, lost 4 second of video

How did you manage to find dropped frame in all those videos?

Just copy all the video files to your pc, open up the traditional file explorer, add in the column of "length" and "size", then you will see any abnormal video clips. Mine set to 5min per clip, so you can trace from here

I've seen similar 1-second duration videos with a few missing seconds on just one channel in previous firmware - this example was from V1.0

I mostly observed this behaviour in parking mode on low bitrate, so I doubt that file size is the problem.

Guys whats the verdict with V2.0 and V2.1?
So far I have no issues with V2.0. No missing footage no beeping. Everything seems to be working fine. (not sure about parking mode, I did not use for parking mode)

Same here Alex - using both 2.0 and 2.1 and no issues at all (no parking mode etc, just video when driving).

Paul.

Yupz, no issues with 2.0 and 2.1 on my side as well, then again, never had issues since 1.2ACC

It seems most of the issues are with parking mode, which is an essential feature for many

Personally I'm still testing 2.1; so far it seems to turn off parking mode randomly before the next morning, even when there is battery available and it is parked in the same spot in an underground garage

Mine is not switching into driving mode from parking mode with v2.1..My camera is powered by a powerbank in both cases driving and parking mode.First start in the morning is in driving mode as I'm not using parking mode in home garage and the camera records as it should all the way to my work place at 2K Front 60FPS+1080p Rear 30FPS..When I park at work garage ,camera is getting in auto-detecting PM and works fine all day in this auto-detect mode, but when I start the car in the evening to get home all my journey the camera records in the same auto detect parking mode. The recorded files are 45 seconds long and saved as PF+PR,the files are recorded at 2K 8Mbps low quality even when the camera detects and shows GPS speed, etc it still remains in auto detecting parking mode...If I use the other 5fps parking mode the camera is not reliable, lots of corrupted files and is switching park/drive mode just fine..I use a Viofo 128GB card...I have waited almost 1 year for a good firmware for my A129Pro Duo and more than 1 year for my A129 Duo,the thing never happened, this cameras are not reliable for parking mode.I'm starting to get sick of them, sorry @viofo but I cannot understand what are you doing lately with both cameras firmwares...:(
