Yep, the one from your website is v2.1 20200724, the one from the official website (@programatix posted above) is 20200803 ;)

Good to know, thanks. V2.1 wasn't even on the Viofo site earlier in the week. Looks like they added this newer version on August 5th.
 
But i kinda hate the fact i'm forced to use FullHD in parking mode now.

@viofo, isn't possible to give us some options..? (and i hope this is not your solution for the failing parking mode because i'm pretty sure it's not caused by heat... - at least in my case)

Btw: Is here anybody who is able to enable Wifi for more than few minutes? (let's say and hour) I though my Wifi was turning off because of switching modes but according to dump UART the Wifi actually turns off because of failure.
 
Firmware 2.1 is a fail for me. Used it on a drive this morning and it stopped recording once the Micro SD card was full. Back to 1.2 for me.

There seems to be a couple of V2.1 builds, the latest being August 4th I believe. Are you on the latest?

Yup, have the Aug. version of 2.1 installed, build 20200803 which is the one available on the Viofo site. I am trying another micro SD card, if it does the same thing and I expect it will I will be going back to 1.2T2
 
This time it stopped recording even before the Micro SD card filled up. Going back to 1.2T2. Also no warning beeps which I knew was the case based on others comments, all it does is start flashing the REC LED off and on, and as I can't see the camera behind the rear view mirror that doesn't do much good.

Did you manually default the cameras settings in the menu, then press and hold the hard reset button after the update? Might want to try that if you did not.
 
I did default the settings but did not press and hold the reset, will give that a try next time I try updating. For now the camera is back on 1.2T2 and working properly.

I have the same problem (like the other July v2.1) with the latest v2.1 August build.Camera doesn't switch to drive mode after recording all day in auto-detect parking mode(parking mode is working fine).Done reset from menu and reset button after firmware update,format the card,etc..

You can change the resolution of parking mode. Weird though that mine defaulted to 1440p instead of 1080p.

Just put the camera and parking mode and go into the settings and change the resolution as you normally would.
 
My two cams are running the last two FW versions (official 803 and beta 724)... Both are running fine using record mode only when driving with all other options turned off, and set to 4k and max bitrate.

Oh so it turns out that v2.1 0803 does force 1080+1080 recording in parking mode.

v2.1 0724 defaulted to 1440+1080 in parking mode but let you change it to any resolution. I’m curious how much of a difference in reliability there is with this change. I’d prefer to use 1440 in parking mode.

For me (day time temp can go up to 39°C outside)
- (all versions) at FHD, it records throughout the day.
- (v2.1 beta and before) at 1440p, most of the time it turned off on its own at around 11am. Sometimes, it hang with led blinking (used to be beeping non-stop but newer firmware no more beep). For v2.1 beta, if I start the car and it boots up (after it turned off on its own during the day), it may fail to record with blinking led (no beep). This happened 3 out of 5 times. If left alone for about a minute, it will decide to restart on its own (with audio cue) and then continue to record properly.

Thanks for the info. Which parking mode do you use?

I always had issues with buffered mode (4K and 1080). I then used low-bitrate in 4K which was more reliable but still prone to shutdowns/non-responsive light blinking. I’m now using 10fps recording (4K and 1440) and haven’t had any failures yet, though it hasn’t been terribly hot, only ~85F/29C.
