DOD LS300W DVR

Thanks for the pictures and very fast response. In the first picture I've seen that you can just install the cam almost. Determined for the rest reaches a nail file. . .

Very good software made by Russians with many options ( incl. zoom ).
You can find it here:
http://registratorviewer.narod.ru/

Thanks for the link, TOP :D

You also might know this cam? I have seen this before I found the LS300W: Ambarella A2S70 VF960

Yes, I have seen it before, but can not judge because personally have not tested it. Only having A2S70 amb CPU is not enough, even if it would have A5 ambarella, still it is early to judge, if not tested in hand. There are much more factors that involves into geting good perfomance. Has to be good CPU, Good CMOS, good firmware, 5,6 or 7 lens ( glass or plastic lens ), other parts, and so on. All them has to be in harmony, only then can say if camera is good or not.
Best way regarding this dash cam is to ask jokiin, he might know it or can say more info.

Yes, "nail file" was that word I was trying to find. I am too lazy some time to Google translate, but I am glad people can understand me.

Regarding where to buy and how much to pay, there is a simple explanation which involves simple calculations:
DOD has officially on they website only few dealers in EU:

http://www.dod-tec.com/contact.php

Dont know why they do not advertise UK official dealer, but they have website:

http://dod-tech.co.uk/

Of course prices are sky-high:

http://dod-tech.co.uk/ls300w.html

159GBP + 10GBP EU shipping, total = 169GBP which is about 255 usd :

http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/con ... GBP&To=USD

and this total is about 100 usd more than you pay ordering from China.

I would not say dealers price is rip-off. Wise person understand that they all import officially, pay full DUTY and VAT tax, pay for local engineers ( repair ), premises rent, security, cleaners ? ... etc, so at the end of the day price is justified. But buying from local ( EU ) dealer you are getting full manufacturer warranty and support. Hope you know what I am trying to say. Most reputable DOD and GT dash cams that I know are Saddle and FoxOffer. They can organize delivery to your door ( Germany ) within 3 working days via DHL. Of course there are many other chinese resellers whos price maybe 5-10 usd cheaper, but for peace of mind I am always agree to pay a little bit more.

I think that maybe I'll order original DOD LS300W at FoxOffer. In FoxOffer it costs € 133 and € 197 DOD UK. This is a very big difference and I can enjoy a few days wait longer for delivery from China.
Full warranty and support I get but also in FoxOffer?

my experience, fox offer is a very reputable dealer. I rather purchase from them since they make an effort to stand behind the products they sell and resolve issues

To me ( from my experience ) they are both reputable. Saddle sells mostly on Aliexpress, which is competitor to eBay and as you might see from product lists and feedback left, - buyers are very happy.
FoxOffer from other hand runs its own online store and also very quick to list all newest products and do replay to all e-mails swiftly. From other forums buyers experience is also a positive with FoxOffer.

I do not want to do any advertisement here, as previously mentioned: to me they are both same ( 50 / 50 ), but I would give FoxOffer some extra "bonus" credibility just for the effort to run a blog where they swiftly inform buyers with most changes / updates / news, like in LS300W / GT300W case they published latest firmware update despite DOD removed it from it#s own website for some reason:

http://www.foxoffer.com/blog/2013/05/22 ... -firmware/

some other blog stories:

http://www.foxoffer.com/blog/

To me this kind of effort from company shows that they care about customers, but I am sure you would get same help and support from Saddle as well, you just need to write them directly and wait for replay ( they usually replay during work days within 12-24h depending on which time-zone you are )

Thanks for the link :) Seems that this cam at the moment still has some difficulties.

DOD Canada support is great. They asked me to return the device for a replacement. The USB Cable is also very loose and sometimes it loses contact with the unit.

The latest firmware of LS300W is 1305230-SC-2, no download link on DOD website.
Many similar LS300W car DVR released in china, others use different solution, like ambarella A2 and AIT8427.
And there is Novatek 96650 solution with GPS logger DVR will be released soon.

Can anyone tell me how good parking mode is with it? How long will it film for after I shut off my car? How good is motion detection?

Just received my GT300W from foxoffer. It is not letting me update the firmware. I put the FWA8S711.bin file in the MICROSD card, plugged it in the car and turned it on. Didn't do anything. Any help?

Edit: Nevermind. Reformatted my Sandisk 64GB from exFat to Fat32. Everything works well now. Will try to post some test videos soon.

Could you please share a new firmware update ?

GT300W Test video: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0Bx59zNeuVRjGdGNpUHJiVi1Rem8&export=download

It was working good until after 6 minutes then it said "Memory Error" and it stopped recording. I have it set to 3 minutes Loop. I reformatted it and it happened again. Anyone know what's happening?

Firmware: 130328
Memory: SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1
Formatted from exFAT to FAT32 with Guiformat.

Pulled the trigger on a GT300W today (FoxOffer). Still have an eye on the DR32 for another car as an upgrade from a DVR 027.

For anyone that has the LS300W/GT300W:

- Does the parking mode work for you? It seems like the motion detection mode only works when the car is stationary, so you have to manually activate motion detection when you leave the car, and deactivate it when you start driving.

- Does the screen saver mode work? It seems like it turns off the LCD after the specified time, but also stops recording some time that, which makes it pretty useless.

update:
with the newest software ( LS300W 2013-03-28 )dod LS300w can work WITH SDHC (8/16/32GB) AND SDXC (64/128GB)
Ordered the GT300W from FoxOffer today too. Can anyone comment on this firmware change mentioned earlier, true or not? jcgruspe93 seems to have problems with a 64GB card, but does anyone else have experience with cards > 32GB?
