DVR207 from futuretrend01 on eBay

Hello,

i recived today my DVR from futuretrend01. Here are the pics, i am not able to say for now if it's geniune or fake, looks geniune on first sight. For some reason i belived that the board should be blue and not green, this waries me a bit. I will buy a SD today and test it will let you know about the outcome.

Update:

Here is a sample of video. I am not very satisfied, can someone tell me if this is what DVR-207 is able to do , or this is not the proper quality. I seted up the camera as per recomanded settings on review page and FAQ page.

Hi mindruv,

From your Youtube video I can say it is pretty much the same quality I get out of my DVR207GS bought from estore009. Nevertheless, it's impossible to make an actual comparison since Youtube adds some compression. The only way to be sure would be with an actual raw video file from your camera.

BTW, I'm a satisfied DVR207GS owner. For the price, I think you get regular quality video. I bought it as my first experimental dash cam and now that I got hooked :D I will be moving on to something with a bit more quality (something along the $100 - $150 range).

Hello,

in this case i can only recomand this seller, item shipped in 7 days from China to Czech Republic. Then it took 2 more days for Customs checks. I paid for it 50$ now it's available for 48 :) . Will do some more tests and then provide feedback.

Looks like the real deal. I will add to the DVR207 page as a potential option. Thanks.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks for confirming.

That is the 720p video quality. If you compare it with a 027/007, it'll look worse and more "noisy". I wonder why? You should get a 027 from estore009, but the 207 does look legitimate.

mindruv,

My person belief is that the DVR 207 uses an EDTV (854x480) resolution image chip and up-converts it to the 1280x720. Every YouTube video I have ever seen from the DVR 207 looks soft at 1280x720, yet videos shot on a true HDTV Camera look sharp at 1280x720. So I don't believe YouTube is causing the problem.

In looking at your videos they seem a bit soft at 1280x720, but like other DVR 207 videos I've seen, the video looks sharp when I view the video at 854x480.

Does it have a real HDMI port? This is one of the differences between 'fake' & real for even DVR027.
