OK solved the problem, the suction cup has to be pushed hard against the glass (there is some slack) before applying the lock. Different from my other suction cup, my bad.

not just whit you.
the cup is really bad on all Ls300 Derivate design models of Dod and i think they are same for TioTech.
it´s design is too short , get a melting hot day and fluff the camera fall when car is parked.
i ordered an 3M mount duo it.

Hello! What you think about buying in - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Shadow-G ... 61887.html or better choise - ?

Product is same, but I afraid buy bad quality prodduct - fake!(

As much as I know, Saddle and Foxoffer stays away from selling fakes. They both are reputable re-sellers, but Foxoffer has been proven to be much more active on after sales support and resolving quickly all issues.
Talk to Foxoffer, maybe they can do slightly better price, but I would not mind to pay very little extra to the vendor who I know will help me in case something happens to the product in the future.
As per Saddle tactics always pushing price down, - they probably sell with no or very tiny margins, just to push out other competitors. Thats a cruel world "out there", but you have to remember: cheaper is not always better even if buying same product. Think about after-sales !

I ask whether the GT550w foxoffer tell with optional GPS module, have informed me that within 2 or 3 weeks comes the new GT550W with GPS included, say that it is best to wait. as much as possible whether you currently sell, just be a replacement for its predecessor gt300w. I think so.

In my opinion, GPS is game) No need in real life.

the mapping is a bonus I guess, the accurate recording of time and location though is worthwhile to have

I share opinion with "johnflame", but this is only my personal view.
Yes, gps / mapping is fun, - you can see on google maps your exact location , speed and all other data, but for common user who buys dash camera only for recording of that final unfortunate accident proof, where he need to provide most vital data such as offender car numberplate, car colour etc. This would be enough in the court later on.
Actually gps data such as speed,- this can turn against you in the court, because lets be honest, most of people exceeding legal speed by even very little margin ( lets say in 50 zone they some time for short period driving 54-55, ) , this will be enough in court for offender advocate to rise case against you. Of course there are dash cams which records gps log on separate files, not stamping whole data to the video, - those are welcome by me, - for court or police you can submit only video action itself with the time, but not with gps log data, just to be safe. But some dash cams stamping speed to the video, - which is more complicated issue later on. Of course you can edit this video later on buy cutting out that section of the video where speed is stamped, but again, - here can rise issue from the legal point of view that you edited video evidence and they do accept only original non-edited files.
So GPS or no GPS, - this has to be decided by end user what for he / she uses it. If for trip records or mapping purpose, then its fine.

ours are like this, separate file for the GPS data and each on screen display item can be selectively chosen in the user menu to be shown or not, so for example you could choose to show time & date and location data but may prefer not to show speed

Yes, those-type I like. It is much more chance that buyer will go for the type of dash camera which have more user-friendly options to chose.

My opinion about GPS is because In Russia 80% of drivers exceeding legal speed and a lot of people find options - how turn off GPS tracking in firmware. It's situation very bad on roads but very difficult drive 90 km/h at free 300-400km roads. When I was tripped in Europe I surprise many zones 50-60-90 etc... Additional cutting is not comfortable. I'm choose without GPS. Also, cost with GPS is higher, why pay more?
*I'm sorry for my English))

Cost of adding a GPS is not that high, on Chinese dash cams its about 10usd, on Korean is 15-25usd, but it give you more options in the future when / if you need to use gps log data.
My point was about to display or not to display all this data on the final video file. I am supporting idea to have a gps log function with ability of settings to store gps log files on separate file, not stamping it into the main video file. Freedom of choice, as jokiin mentioned on his dash cams models.

I figured you knew what I meant anyway but have just emailed you a couple of files to look at so you could see the options we have, just in case it wasn't clear

Yes, I know what you meant and will review files soon. Thank you.

Re: GT550W WDR GPS F1.6 from Shadow Tec by TioTec dash camer

I was under the impression, in serious cases where the need to factor speed in was worth the resources - you could 'extract/calculate' the speed from the recorded video anyway? It's not my area, but i sure i read that somewhere.

I'm sure someone on here will know!?

Re: GT550W WDR GPS F1.6 from Shadow Tec by TioTec dash camer

Speed is just time taken to travel a distance which could be calculated from any video footage

Re: GT550W WDR GPS F1.6 from Shadow Tec by TioTec dash camer

Well that is embarrassingly obvious - thanks for the clear sum up!

I'm gonna get this with the GPS option and probably get your cam when it comes out for my other car. Jokiin have you a released date in mind and spec?

Re: GT550W WDR GPS F1.6 from Shadow Tec by TioTec dash camer

I am not very IT skilled regarding dash cams soft programmings, but I assume that any separate gps log file can be altered / hacked for speed and other data. But if serious case goes into court, - specialists can analyse and calculate speed by the distance car travelled within certain time period, so jokiin point is right on spot. Therefore having gps log data ( speed ) stamped / saved directly on the video file or not is not big point.

can't give either right now unfortunately, some things for final spec still to be confirmed, release date is dependent on a lot of variables, we're working on 6 models right now, if all goes well I think 3 of them will be released before the end of the year, will be one at a time as they're ready, a month or so apart maybe
