Mobius mounting solutions

Only a week with the Scosche mount... But I assure you (like MrM said) it is not moving. Solid and safe. A great way to hold the Mobius. Quick release and you don't leave behind something ugly.

Yes it is. But as mentioned, my mount fell off several times due to the California heat. The sticker remained on the windshield. So apparently the other side didn't bond well with the plate. So I've removed the 3M that Scosche uses. Cleaned it up, and used Sugru to stick the plate to my windshield. Lets see if this is really temperature resistant.

I have four (4) disc shaped Neodymium magnets glued to the inside of the Mobius case. This will let me attach the Mobius to any metal surface, and so far it haven't interfered with the quality of the video or the functionality of the Mobius.

I opted for a modified helmet mount for my install. I wanted something discrete that would fit in behind the rearview mirror, and get as close to the windscreen as possible.

I'm sure it's been posted many times before, but this is the helmet sticker mount vs the ball-joint sticker mount:

Please can you have a look at your own helmet mounts and advise if it could stick to the windshield and point back at 90 degrees. I am not sure if the height would clear of the sticky base.

I decided to use the Sugru. I'll let you know how it goes. Could be an option instead of those rearview pads.

Yes it does go past 90 degrees but the B lens sticks out past the base by a few millimeters, the A lens would be ok

if it is sticking out even by few mm, then its going to have no space in between lens and windshield. may not even fit in there !!

I have lens B, so this idea goes in the bin then

No it is not, it is an extension cable between the lens and the Mobius chassis.

Nope ... I hit the lens angle for first try, only one problem is reflections from dashboard. ... actually ... one advice DO NOT try to remove lens from lens module .... it lead to defocusing and you need to refocus it in webcam mode or with VIDEO cable.

Ah, I see. I guess you mean for the installation to be very permanent. I often use methods that are less permanent in case I decide to alter my design but I can see where a glue gun can make sense here. I love those hot melt guns actually, and use one all the time for many kinds of projects.

Not yet ... I'm working on solution with cutted cap with CPL film used for LCD repair like in thread https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/mobius-cpl-filter-diy-lens-b-wide-angle.6833/
It's reversible, so if it does not work I'll buy I'll let you know

EDIT: After finishing cleaning filter from glue, find out that one side is diffuse (blurry)

But the thumb screw on the helmet mount was limiting the angle that I could tilt the camera up, so I swapped it for one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291158637189

Someone managed to eliminate the squeaking from the helmet holder and his base plate?
You can see (and listen) it in this video:

What can i do to make it stop? but without permanently glue it or something close to it.
