Mobius Telephoto Dashcam

Designs for the FPV mounts on BG are freely available at Thingiverse. FPV mounts or appropriately sized magnets would be the way to go for a vibration free rear install.

Thanks for the links. I need one of those metal clip things first to go under the headliner, as I don't have any exposed metal to attach the magnet to.

Yup, way shorter than the Treeye lenses. I like the smaller footprint.

Look good. Waiting to see how it perform. Just curious. What distance did you adjust your focus to?

I focused it looking at a building around 25 metres away but had trees and other buildings in the way, so focused keeping those in mind too, looks fine.

I like how the throw from my car's headlights matches the start point of the 8mm's vertical FOV, hardly any shadow areas on the sides of the road. :)

Though I'd like a little more zoom, 12mm (1/2.5) is most probably going to overshoot.

No harm in trying though. I received a small 12mm lens this morning that I will try soon.

I will, no point getting it and not checking it out...

Is your 12mm 1/3"?

My 8 and 12mm are here. 8mm mounted and focused, samples coming later tonight.

Did you need to do any case modifications to fit that lens? One of the downsides of the 4mm F1.2 is the larger diameter barrel which requires you to cut away the lens opening in the case for it to fit.

No modification required, same/similar size as the A2.

On second thought the A2 sits flush inside the front opening. I'd say more like the C2 and D.

At least you can buy a replacement case dirt cheap. :) One of the great things about the Mobius. (even the M2)
