Hi,
I'm new to the dashcam world so please bear with me if I say something stupid...
I'm looking to buy a dash cam, and one of the features which I think is a nice-to-have, but not totally necessary, is a parking mode. As I understand it, the SG9665GC doesn't support a parking mode(because it is a capacitor-based camera), but if I hardwire it into my always-on battery supply, it can act as one(that is, recording on motion, or g-force). Is that correct?
And if I do that, I would need some kind of discharge prevention device. I'd rather not rely on voltage cutoff, as that can be finicky and can decrease the lifespan of my battery due to constant cycling. Ideally I'd like to get a cutoff device that cuts off after, say, 2 hours. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Cheers!
