Uber Driver / Passenger argument

It is indeed quite frustrating when people decide to ignore you, i think the guy do pretty good, i am sure at this point i would be using another set of words.

And whats with the passenger, turn on your phone GPS and let it guide it to where you want to go. Thr guy do not need to point your lost ass anywhere.

I assume, not knowing UBER rules and practices.

Maybe they need to re-name the service "Unter" :p

Never used it myself, but a friend who does has had to tell the drivers which way to go a few times. And once an admittedly new driver took several wrong turns making a 20 minute trip an hour long ride. It's a cut-price service so don't expect to get what you don't pay for o_O

Even if you drive by GPS you can get to drive longer than needed, i have never used a GPS unit or program that do well in this regard, and some have even been outright ridiculous in the routes they come up with.

For the most i just use the navigation as last miles directions, otherwise i pretty much know where to go in this little country of mine.

I really think like NAV systems have options to stay away from toll roads, they should also have options to stay away from dirt roads / tracks cuz i have been sent to those a few times and i was happy i was driving a 4x4 as the road have often been a farmers tractor track that just happen to connect 2 pieces of paved roads, but really they are private tracks not meant for the greater public to use.

And one time navigating i was told to drive thru a area with summer houses, by Danish measurement, and mostly those areas have just 1 entrance and is also mostly just dirt roads.
This being a example on how a summer house area look along the Jutland West coast, but its the same elsewhere tho houses might be closer and terrain less bumpy.

And why the hell would navigation send you thru a area like that when you are not going there but to a town some 10 miles further away

Many times when we are vacationing (and not in any particular hurry) I'll use the NAV even though I know how to get where I'm going. The difference being I'll select the option to take the shortest route versus the fastest. You will invariably end up taking a lot of 'back roads' but in the process see things and meet people you never would otherwise.

It's not a bad way of traveling - again if you're not in a hurry because a 1 hour trip can easily take 4 hours if you happen to stop a couple of times which we almost always end up doing if we see something interesting or curious. Also highly recommended that you have 4WD/AWD as more than once I've ended up driving on forest service maintenance roads that are nothing more than 2 ruts through the woods.

I agree.

But i always use fastest route navigating, but it would be nice if there was a option to take the explorer route, or maybe a option to route by scenic or historical landmarks.
Its not like my ass is on fire navigating, but if i dont select fastest / shortest route then it go completely crazy.

If i get to do my dream US grand tour, fastest / shortest route is out of the question, i think i will go by my build in compass and just have a map going on something to make sure i dont get totally lost.

Just have to keep a eye out for those NO Trespassing signs in the US :D

...i will go by my build in compass and just have a map going on something to make sure i dont get totally lost....
LOL. Funny you should mention that because I do the same thing and once ended up driving through a freshly plowed farm with no room to turn around. Had to reverse for almost a 1/2 mile before I could get pointed in the right direction and drive forward. :p

Well as a co-driver for my friend in the 15 years he have been driving land rovers, i have the basic off road knowledge secured, so i dont fear getting out there in rural USA.

But i think i have become too old to lie on my back in a puddle of mud and put a new front axle on a 4x4, so i better go easy on my rental over there.
Though for 6 months its probably better to buy a car, and then donate it to something worthwhile when i go home.

Excuse me....But that wanna be taxi driver has no business working with the public. I shudder to think if that was my wife or my daughter. That insane ass deserves to get his ass in lock up. The lady passenger by her voice seemed to be an elderly woman.. No excuse for such insane behavior from that jerkoff.:mad::mad:

The passenger is using a overly polite language in the VVS movie, and true the driver is not doing that, but no telling for how long this have been going on before the recording started.
I too get frustrated if people just put on a ignorant attitude and expect me to sort out their problems, and "i am assuming here" that when the passenger know how to use a smart phone to call uber, then the person might also be able to use the phone for what appear to be the last few yards to the door of where ever.

But yeah the driver is at the end of his line it appear, but he still try please a few times.
But he will probably fail any Gentleman 101 course :D

Had it been me and a elderly person back there, then for sure i would let age and what not work in her favor, and i would have escorted her all the way to the door and maybe inside if need be.

But it its just some young dame with a attitude, then i might well end up where the uber driver is after a while.

Some people today are experts in asking too much of other people, in this country its literally a industry thats loosing society billions every year.

Very good reply lets see what others say with comments. While I have you here when can we expect another release of your hilarious selfie of you driving and intermingling with other motorists.

I am thinking in this case, maybe the destination is on the other side of the road but there is no place to park there.

Or maybe this is the destination but a few yards down the road from it as this was the nearest place to stop, i dont think you can expect a uber driver to double park while he pick up or offload.

Off course if its a elderly confused lady back there, then yeah this guy is wayyyyy out of line, but it could very well also just be a dame expecting to be let off 10 feet from the door.

And i am inclined to think the latter is the case, and after arguing with driver for some time, the passenger whip out phone and start to recording while being very careful not to sound rude.

Got cameras coming my way, and they have to be put to use in some way :)
