V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

@losang30 - I don't know whether this will help or not but here goes...

I only have 1 A329S system, with a Viofo 512gb card installed. I also have the latest Firmware and the
latest Viofo Android App version. I have not had any issues so far.

However - I do NOT have a SSD connected, and I also do not have a power bank, just the HK6 hooked up
to the truck's electrical system.

So you might want to focus your attention toward your SSD(s) to see if that has anything to do with the
issues you are having, and also whether or not going back to earlier FW will help.

Reach out to @VIOFO-Support if you haven't already. Again, hope this helps. Good luck!

That's valuable information. You might be right, it could be an SSD issue if no one else is having problems. Are you utilizing Hybrid parking mode? Because when I do not rely on the hybrid parking mode, it seems that I don't have the issues although I don't know if I have tested it with no hybrid parking mode for long enough time to confirm.

@losang30 - Sorry, I should have included that I do use Hybrid Parking Mode, Low Bit-Rate that
falls back to Low Power Impact Detection below 12vdc.

Because I am retired and do very little driving around and parking away from home I am also
using the Geo-Fencing feature to turn the unit completely off when parked at home. Sometimes
my truck will sit unused for 2-3 days while saving endless parking files for no reason.

I have been running my A329T since with the 2.0 firmware since it way released.
No issues at all here.
To power it I'm using the HK4 connected to a dashcam battery.
Samsung Pro Plus 256GB SD card.
Hybrid parking mode is enabled.
No SSD.

If it turns out others who are using combo of SSD and sd card are having issues then perhaps I'll just disconnect the SSD drive and see if that resolve the issue.
I am encouraged to see that that you guys are not having issues by just using the SD card.

@losang30 - I just checked my cam and it shows Firmware dated 251027 which might be a different version than you have. It is V2.0, but maybe a different date with slight changes ?

EDIT: I just noticed a new/New/NEWEST Version, dated 12/30/2025 has been updated and a link to it
has been added to Post #1 of this thread.

Thanks for checking on that. I didn't have these issue until the 12/4 update. I updated to the latest one that was offered. I may go back to the 10/27/25 update to see if issue resolves itself.

What changes are there in the 123025 version?
These were lots of changes. The so called parking mode shut off issues, parking notification, a few other updates. Please see Viofos website under support I believe Blog and look for Firmvare update 2.0 for more detailed info.

I already have version 2.0 102725. I would like to know what they added or corrected with this latest one

It's in this same thread. Just go up to the first posting by VIOFO and click on the 12/4 hyperlink. Wow. I just looked at it and it looks like there is even a newer update of 12.30. I had the 12.4. Maybe this will help with my issue.

Sorry, Viofo had not specified what the changes were from 102725 to the newer version. I assume it's bug fixes etc. I assume the new changes are the same bug fixes they have encountered and or discovered.

Where is the A329T version for 123025? The link in post 1 goes directly to the A329S binary instead of a directory with all the binaries.

I am still on A329T_V2.0_251027.
Been too cold for me to want to mess with updating firmware...mainly just waiting for v2 to go final version. (i forgot about the slightly newer version posted a while back)
See nothing noteworthy to me to want to update at the moment.
The version i am on is working fine.
The only anomaly i had was, after sitting in parking spot for a few minutes, the cam suddenly announced "Parking mode recording started" (something like that, for sure parking mode something), wich is odd, cause i do not use parking mode and is connected via usb adapter, so should not have any way to trigger parking recording.
I power cycled the cam, has not done it since.
I have a 512GB Viofo SSD in the cam, but also use a Sandisk 1TB ssd connected. Have not had any issues with that setup.

Thank you for that info. I was doing good with the update of 10/27/25, but when I updated to the 12/4/25 that is when I had card error issues, shutting off on its own, same setup as yours except with a 2 TB SSD.
I am thinking they may have worked out some of the bugs with the 12/4/25 update.

I was about to downgrade it to the 10/27/25 but the link is no longer available on the blog page of Viofo, so no choice but to go forward to the 12/30/25 update. Will see what happens. I am sure they will work it out. Hopefully the official V2 is about to get release soon.

I started testing that function yesterday, powering an A329S from a USB powerbank whilst inside the house (power cable plugged into the GPS mount). After 5-10 minutes of no movement the dashcam switched into parking mode although the timing seemed to be inconsistent. I will do further indoor and in-car testing with a GPS signal available to see how this works.

I wonder about this. Is this some un-documented new feature perhaps? If the cam detects no motion, and/or has no GPS signal, will it then switch to Parking Recording mode of some sort?
I often remote start vehicle and it idles for several minutes.
My main concern here would be how would i know if the cam switched back to normal driving mode when i started to drive?

Quite possibly a change, since Viofo don't seem to be posting updates as to what's changed with each of the V2 releases (or even that they've updated the link in the first post). Wish they would.

To answer your question, when switching from parking to normal recording, I receive the same "recording started, three channels active" message I get on a cold startup, just no startup sound. (I have the 329T so three channels).

May not be a problem for you however, if remote starting the car does not start the accessory circuit the GPS is powered from then the GPS will stay off until you're in the car and fully turn it on. That's how it worked in my old car that had remote start.

I've noticed a couple of other curious behaviors of the dashcam running V2 firmware, currently running the 251204 version since the latest updated link didn't provide access to firmware for the T version.
  1. I've now got an SSD attached and set as the storage for normal recording. However, parking recording is also going to the SSD despite showing that it is meant to be going to the SD Card, and I can't even select the SSD since I'm using hybrid parking mode. Have not enabled option to copy parking recordings to the SSD.
  2. When Low Power Impact Detection mode is active for parking recording, the clock is wrong after starting the car until it gets an GPS update. Same applies if GPS enabled during parking, but that doesn't surprise me when using LPID since I doubt it would power the GPS module for what's by design a very low power mode. Notice this especially as I park in a multi-story carpark so it can be a few minutes until I exit and GPS can fix the time.

My car is older, 2007 and aftermarket remote start system. The 12V accessory outlet turns on with ignition switch, off when ignition off.
I recall waking up the cams screen and looking at it, before i power cycled, i had no idea how to tell if it was driving mode or parking mode, as I never have triggered that mode before, so not know what icon to look for at the time.

Ah, so it will affect you then. I don't know of an on-screen indicator for parking vs normal recording there's just an indicator for recording. I listen for the audible announcement. If you set the LEDS to be different in parking mode (just power LED on) that might work as something you could check.

Just checked the blog post linked from the first post, and the frst thing I noted about parking recording storage is actually intentional. Not sure why it's being forced this way, if parking storage is set to SD-Card, that's where I'd expect them to be, both pre and post-impact. I've deployed the SSD to keep driving footage for longer (I drive quite a lot, so even a 512GB SD Card was keeping only around a week's worth of recording without saving parking recordings with three channels and normal quality.)

@VIOFO-Support is there any chance of getting option to keep all parking recording on the SD Card even with SSD in use for normal recording?
