Vantrue E360

1. The suction mount for E360 is currently in trial production, and samples are expected to be available by early December.
I’m starting to like this little guy. lol
2. The E360 will generate separate files from each image sensor according the to the resolution you set.
=)
3. Yes, you can use the Vantrue player to playback the video. The New Vantrue player supports various playback modes, including 360-degree rotation, split-screen (top and bottom), and quad-view.
Thank you for the info, but this does not answer my question.
Question:
Is the “Vantrue Player” REQUIRED to play the recorded footage on the Micro SD Card?
In the past I have tested dash cams from FineVu, and GNET, and I could not play the recorded footage on my Chromebook.
Those dash cams require the user to download proprietary software to play the recorded footage from the SD Card.
See here;
https://www.finevu.com/en/sub3/sub1.html
-
Downloading the proprietary software requires a Windows PC, or MAC computer.
All I can afford is $99 Chrombooks.
This means the only way I can see the recorded footage is on my tiny iPhone screen, and not my 43” 4K monitor.
4. The E360 only has H.264 Video Codecs.
I think I’m falling in love. lol

1.) How do we charge the Handheld Mount?
a.) USB Type-C?
b.) Does it come with charging cable, and power brick?
c.) How long does it take to fully charge?
2.) What is the mAh capacity of each 18650 cell?
I just found the answer, (3300mAh each cell)
3.) Are the 18650 cells Li-ion, or LiFePO4, (Lithium Iron Phosphate).
The answer to this question could be a deal breaker.

Guessing by the looks of it, they're user replaceable and googling doesn't seem to show that Panasonic 18650s are lifepo4, only li-ion...

I'm not Jeff but the manual tells me it has a USB C port.

A quick search shows me there are no 18650 LiFePO4 from Panasonic. Only Li-ion.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I Literally just googled and posted the same time as you haha

So we already verified our both results in the quickest time possible?🤣

Is Li-Ion a problem??
That is what gets used in high power torches, and what you would expect in a hand held selfie stick camera.
I would hope that there is an internal charger, so that you don't need to take them out to charge them in a battery charger, but for a low cost 360° camera, maybe using a separate charger is OK. Few battery chargers take LiFePO4 cells.

Reviews should be up in the coming weeks I'd presume, so we'll have more answers then ..
Can not wait for the influencers to tell us how great the product is….

Tag me if someone who really tests dash cameras thoroughly reviews it.

That is going to depend on your player, but most players will play H264 without problem. The only issue should be that it is going to be very wide video, so a player that will zoom in and scroll sideways would be very desirable, so I guess most people will use the Vantrue Player, which has some advantages in being able to display it as proper 360 video rather than just a very wide panorama.

If you can play it on your iPhone, you can Airplay it from your iPhone to your 4K TV...

Since it's a consumer and not an enthusiast product it seems to have a charging port integrated as seen in the manual.

With flashlights it's another topic.
However even there I prefer integrated charging since I don't like always taking out the batteries.

lol.. I’d like to test it at some point, but I’ve got a ton of dashcams on hand to test already in my queue.

I don't think the 5.2K resolution is going to be half high enough for you!
Would be interesting to see it paired up with a high resolution camera though.

This is very true, I have a bunch of Wuben torches that take 18650 batteries that I can take out if I like, but I charge it over usb-c which makes things quite easy

This feels like a crossover episode haha
I like my Wurkkos and Sofirn.
But you are right, USB C charging is just so much more convenient.

As I said above in my post, no consumer should be required to do this if they aren't an enthusiast.
Just my opinion.
Since the charging port is in the manual there is no need to worry about that.

I think 360 video is 2:1 ratio not 24:9.

This camera is exciting, I have been a fan of 360 cameras since before the first Ricoh Theta.

I hope it can take still photos.

Haha it must be fate 🙂, I love those brands too

You're right, it's nice to have the option to swap it out and I'd assume most people wouldn't even bother (or know) how to swap the batteries out - the usb c charging makes it convenient and at the end of the day that's all that matters as you say.....
