Vantrue N4S

I think I've tried 2 Vantrue (128gb & 256gb) and Sandisk Max Endurance 256gb.. all have issues.

I might be receiving the Vantrue N4 Pro S soon and I believe that rear camera is swappable - might give that a go before decommissioning the N4S for a while to swap with N4 Pro S.

Im getting the N4 Pro S as well, but will be going in a different vehicle. I'll probably swap out the N2X for the N4 S Pro

I've swapped the rear camera from the N4 Pro S to the N4S - didn't replace cable though. Going to run the N4S for a day or two before replacing it with the N4 Pro S.

I've set up my N4S inside with a power supply, the hardwire kit and rear camera.
I'm going to let it run overnight and see what happens.

One day of short drives, so far no issues but I also swapped out memory card to a 1TB Vantrue card.

Hope everyone finds that swapping camera works. Given that mine is performing without issue, I suspect there might be a bad batch of a few cameras if you guys find the problem resolved.

General note.... the N4 S Pro uses the same mount as the N2X and N4S..... Anyone who has received the N4S Pro.... You're going to be blown away by the 4K front image. I haven't gotten rear camera in yet. However, I wanted to just swap the N2X and N4 S Pro...... Wow just wow.

I guarantee the N4 S Pro is going to be Vantrue's Flagship 3 channel (4K / 1080P / 2.5K) assuming rear camera looks just as spectacular.

The S1 Pro Max will be the definitely 4k front + rear contender.

Question:

Has anyone asked Vantrue if it's possible to make parking mode from 1080P 15FPS to 1080P 30 FPS? Just curious if this is an option or change that can be done via firmware. @Jeff_Vantrue

I ran my N4S with the rear camera for a total of 4.5 hours in the last two days using the Hardwire kit and a power supply. There were no shortened videos or time gaps and the Rear Camera always worked.

Awesome! That same mount also works for the E360. It’s really nice to see compatibility across models here, it makes swapping out/upgrading a much easier task!

As I suspected, likely a bad batch of cameras. I would maybe offer to send the rear back to Vantrue to let their engineers troubleshoot the fault. Might be very helpful if they'd pay the cost to ship back.

Okay, tested it for a few more days - no drops in recording with the replacement rear cam from the N4 Pro S.

Either way, I'm swapping out the N4S for the N4 Pro S for now since I don't have anymore windshield space and/or power outlets to power devices.
