I received a birthday present the other day, a new model Vantrue N5. For which many thanks to Jeff_Vantrue.
There is a gradual acquaintance with the new model on the table. I'll put it on the car later.

Packing and equipment.

These are the firmware installed from the factory in a freshly arrived DVR.

This is what the bitrate of four cameras looks like when recording at a resolution of 2560x1440.

Could it be that your N5 Version is a pre production one that needs different firmware because the IR filter is inverted?

I don't know. On the VT-ECD201 firmware, everything works fine.

Are you okay with the latest firmware?

MOD - firmware on which the video was shot is here.
Doesn't look very sharp at this point in the video. This is a direct screen capture at the highest res in youtube.

Considering that along the road there are green spaces with many leaves,
then there is not much chance to see something on the stock firmware, with a bit rate that is half as much.
On the original video everything looks fine. ;)

That looks so much better.(y)
Yeah I noticed the bit rate seems low. Could it be to allow 4x cameras to operate with creating to much heat?

That bit rate looks much better but I'm wondering as mentioned in my previous post how will it handle heat?
Here are the CPU temperatures during today's ride. The air temperature outside was +23 - +25 degrees Celsius.

Thanks for quick informative replies.

In 30min it was still rising started at 36 finished at 85. I wonder at what temperature it will plateau.

The mod firmware with the t.txt file option is a cool idea.

I'll be back on tomorrow.
Cheers.

It is almost same as on default bitrate firmware. @Karagandinez aslo have another mod without increased bitrates so you may ask him compare teperatures differences for default and increased bitrates. I do not have Vantrue Nexus 5 dashcam so can't do it myself.

At Viofo A229 Duo, the temperature rose to +140 degrees Celsius ;)

Here is yesterday's processor temperature on stock firmware when working on a table at an air temperature of +25 degrees Celsius.
