VIOFO A119 MINI_2 FIRMWARE

Hi!
I purchased Viofo A119 Mini 2 and the firmware was: V 1.0 20230516. Looks like Version: V1.0_0509 is V 1.0 20230509 after I upgraded it. Is it possible to get the latest firmware?

You have the latest firmware installed.

The Viofo app for IOS has been updated.

Well I have updated my two mini2 dashcams to latest firmware (V1.0_0509) and a wifi bug, that caused camera to hang, is now solved.
However, now with the new firmware the record settings are somehow not remembered. Everytime I restart the camera it defaults back to 2560x1440,30fps instead of the 60fps. In fact with one of the cameras it simply refuses to stay on 60fps and just stays on 30fps all the time. The app I am using is version 3.6.

I resetted all settings and now the dash cam shows the 60fps option again. I don't know what caused the 60fps option to disappear.

The v1.0_0605 firmware now available on the VIOFO website is slightly different (md5sum checksum) from the beta v1.0_0605. The file size is the same (in bytes), but the md5 checksums are different.

e6ae5abafc9d94e57b03bc4ec34423b1 v1.0_0605/FWA119M2.bin

There are some internal date string text values (as well as other things) that are different in the two files:

< U-Boot 2019.04 (Jun 05 2023 - 14:21:15 +0800)
---
> U-Boot 2019.04 (Jun 05 2023 - 17:21:17 +0800)

Anyone with a beta copy of the v1.0_0605 installed, I would suggest you load the public version of the v1.0_0605 firmware for the A119 Mini 2. There may be no functional differences, but it's best to eliminate that from any testing/issues you may have with your A119 Mini 2.

In the beta version, there was no microphone volume control, but there should be.

One thing I did find was that the "Date Format" setting was finally added to the VIOFO app for the A119 Mini 2. I've been asking for this setting to be added to the VIOFO app for the A119 Mini and the A119 Mini 2 for quite some time.

Can I update FW via mobile app?

No, the VIOFO app is not capable of transferring the firmware bin file to the dash camera. You must download the firmware bin file from the viofo.com website to your computer and transfer the downloaded bin file to the root directory of the microSD card used by that camera. With the microSD card in the dash camera, power on the dash camera and it will install the firmware and you will see the left most LED blink really fast while the dash camera is reading the bin file and writing it to the dash camera.

After that completes, the dash camera will reboot. Most of the time the dash camera's firmware settings will be reset to their default values. You can use the dash camera's menu system to change them or connect using Wi-Fi and use the VIOFO app to adjust the settings.

There are "times" that the settings don't get reset to their default values. If that's the case, I would strongly suggest using the menu system's or the VIOFO app's option to reset the settings to their default values. That will reboot the dash camera again and then start from that point to configure the settings to your preferred values.

Latest firmware seems buggy. It was in parking mode and it couldn't switch back to regular recording mode. None of the buttons worked either. Only way to get it to record again was to power cycle

Have you tried resetting the dashcam to factory settings first to see if this alleviates the issue?

Yes after the firmware flash was complete, it automatically reset itself to factory settings.

I took my car to the track today and on the way to the track, I find the G sensor to be extremely sensitive even with it set to low. Just driving on road imperfections dips in the road would trigger it.
