VIOFO A119 PRO Modified Firmware MODs Archive

Created new A119Pro - Beta versions 7Lf , 7Le , 7Ld
Much coffee was consumed during the creation process. If the sharpness ranges are acceptable will create 25Mbps versions for Stable release.

Fantastic! This is one of my favorite clips, its an amazing fast winding drive through the town and up the mountain. It turned out well even with low sharpness MOD.
You were correct in questioning MOD image quality, the sharpness values were wrong, didn't adjust them from A119S for A119Pro use.

FWA119P_MOD-7Lc_v1.32+27Mbps+Sharp34+Edge178 Seem quite similar. Maybe more saturated colours with 7Lf. Looking again at the 007 written on the green lamp post, there maybe slightly more sharpness with 7Lc. Thanks again for the work on this.

what's your personal favorite MOD for A119 Pro?
 
I am currently using MOD-7Lc - - - September 8, 2018. Very happy with the results. I almost returned my A119 Pro as I wasnt happy with the stock firmware, then I found this thread.

Still using the 7Lc, then I saw your 7Lf video sample, and seems to blend with my taste ! will try tomorrow.

Excellent! 7Ld has just enough sharpness to be the low level. When we determine the BEST sharpness 120-180 must request you drive that tight switchback mountain road on sunny day!

Excellent 7L sharp 100-140-180 comparison, exactly what I need to see for adjustments. 7Le & 7Lf Hue146 perfect! only using Edge138 next to increase Edge158 for halo limit. Will try to create now, late for work but don't care.

Your comment highlights an issue I want everyone reading these Modified Firmware threads to understand.

BCHobbyist purchased A119 & A119S in Feb 2017 and from that time till Aug 2018 VIOFO's Image Quality has gotten worse and worse. I have no idea how they determine/test for IQ but its poor. Like many of you, as @mirkster stated, almost returned the Dash Cams because of poor Image Quality Firmware. In July 2018 BCHobbyist with aid of @gse and others, created our own Modified Firmware so End Users/Owners could improve the horrible over-sharpening of stock firmware. VIOFO is now playing catch-up to my IQ improvements and if you called it competition or against, I could care less. The point is Owners of these VIOFO products are not happy with the limited, infrequent and unacceptable IQ Firmware updates.
My methods, procedures, multitude of hex hacked MODs hopefully provides some Owners a temporary Firmware to use until VIOFO releases improved IQ with MENU options to control these settings ourselves without hacks.
This is my Hobby, bending technology is what I do best.
