Viofo A329S Review

Do we have a software where we can zoom in parts of the video and/or play videos from all channels simultaneously? Playing videos of our dashcams just using Windows Media Player doesn't give all the details.
VLC has a zoom function, I don't find it very easy to use though.

Media Player Classic, which comes with the K-Lite Codec pack also has a zoom:

It is illegal in some States that I am aware of (probably all States actually) in the U.S., however, even in those States the law is not usually enforced unless the car is being pulled over for some other reason.

Reminds me of that video of MKBHD (#1 tech youtuber) getting pulled over multiple times for traffic violations that surfaced last year.
You can see he darkened his rear plate in the last traffic stop (at 15:35).

I think that Marques Brownlee can be allowed some brown registration plate.

Good to see that Nigel offers a video for this great feature. It could be shorter.
I am using MPC-BE
The first thing you need to remember is 9 and 5. And then 1. And then Ctrl + 6, 8, 4, 2.

And Ctrl + Arrow Keys to step through time (the frames) when Paused.
(Although I have two versions of MPC installed, one uses Ctrl+Arrows and the other uses just Arrows!)

The Viofo website clearly stated that the A329s uses Wifi 6. But when I received the A329s I ordered, the box says it's only capable of 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. When I powered up the dashcam, I can only use 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Did Viofo advertise something that isn't true?
No, WiFi 6 operates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
The 6 only refers the version of WiFi (it's the one after WiFi 5), it does not refer to the frequency band.
Not only WiFi 5, but even WiFi 2 and WiFi 4 also supported 5 GHz.
You're thinking of WiFi 6E

Wi-Fi 6, or IEEE 802.11ax, is an IEEE standard from the Wi-Fi Alliance, for wireless networks (WLANs). It operates in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands,[4] with an extended version, Wi-Fi 6E, that adds the 6 GHz band.

An option for Android phone is "Useful Zoom-V Player".

It lets you pinch to zoom into areas of the video and move it round the screen.

Hello.

Before installing the A329s to my car and while it was still in single channel mode, I can see in the screen "4k 21:9 60fps".. Now that it's in 3 channel mode, it only shows "4K 21:9+2k 21:9+2k 21:9)".. It no longer shows "60 fps"...

Can anyone confirm if this is still in 60fps and it just doesn't fit the screen anymore or is 60fps disabled in 3 channel mode?

It has HDR on, 60fps is disabled in HDR mode since it uses 2 exposures per frame. Probably you have it in the best mode to use.

I have it set to turn HDR on at 6pm and it was just before 5pm. I didn't see an option in settings where it will turn HDR on automatically. I'll check again. Thank you.

I already turned off HDR as seen in the pictures. But I still don't see the dashcam say it's 60fps on 3 channel.

I checked the details of the video from my computer and it says 30fps only.

You can verify in your own settings screen on your camera. It can not show 60fps and 30 fps for every camera on the screen. It only has so many characters

I downloaded the video for the front camera while on 3 channel mode. It only shows 30fps. I'm sure that HDR is off. While on 3-channel mode, the option for 60fps is gone.

As per on the other thread, the camera is limited to 30fps on 3ch mode.
If you use as 1ch or 2ch, then you get option for 60fps on front camera, otherwise it only goes to 30fps when using all 3 channels

If you set the interior camera/telephoto camera off at certain times (when driving or in parking mode), then when it switches to 2 camera, the front will go back to 60fps.

Since the A329s on 3-channel will be locked to 30 fps, does this mean that the video quality will just be the same as the A229 Pro?

More doesn't always mean better.
In some situations, 30fps is much better than 60fps.

I get that. But one of the selling points of the A329s is it's ability to run on 60fps, which is why I was sold to it. But it didn't say anywhere that it will run just on 30fps on 3 channels. I'm more on the part where it misleads people. If I was okay with 30fps, I should've retained my A229 Pro 3ch.

Let me be clear we do not think 60fps is a selling point. We set all of our prior generation A329 to 30fps with HDR on.

But I will agree with you that they have it listed on their website as 60fps in 3 channel mode.
