Viofo A329S Review

Yes new HK6. Testing away.
The new digital camera takes way better pics then my phone

I thought maybe that was the new HK6, based on the shown voltage settings. Interesting how they have gone to a connectorized wiring scheme. I have to also ask, are those holes for a speaker or for cooling?

What is the wire gauge for input and output?

No idea yet. Have had it running on bench for 12 hours just to see how it works.

If you plug into ssd slot only normal parking modes show up.

As soon as you plug it into gps power slot (main power input) it recognizes the HK6 and enables all parking modes

You mentioned in one of comments of your videos that this has bluetooth. Will this require a separate app or will the Viofo app have an update?
It communicates with dash camera. No app involved.

What's the point of BT when the dashcam is already physically wired to the HK6?
Is it possible to transmit vehicle battery voltage to dash cam so it can display it in the text stamp at the bottom of the recorded footage just like the Korean brands?
And also to operate the low voltage cut-off for HPM?

I've been reviewing a PDF version of the HK6 user manual for the past couple of days. The HK6 connects to the dash camera over Bluetooth. The HK6 reports the input 12V/24V voltage level to the dash camera which should appear in the video status line.

The voltage level reported by the HK6 is also used by the dash camera when the "Cut-off Voltage" is defined in the vehicle battery protection settings: [from A329S user manual]

  1. Means that you don't need the data conductors in the power cable, so the cable can be thinner and cheaper?
  2. Means that you don't need extra pins on the mount connector, so that will be cheaper and more reliable.
  3. Means that you can run the camera from a USB-C car power socket, as is supplied next to the dashcam mounting position by some car manufacturers, and still switch hybrid parking modes based on battery voltage, with the HK6 connected to the battery, but not the camera... does that work?

Easy. I used 3M command picture hanging strips, stuck one side to the glovebox, then another pair to that and stuck that to the SSD.

Worked wonders for me and even now that's how I mount my 70mai battery pack in my cars glovebox (for heavier items), doesn't slide around at all (worked better than the velcro straps 70mai had in the retail packaging).
Sharing where I put mine. Thanks for the suggestions of everyone who responded.

Awesome glad it's working as well for you as it did for me! πŸ™‚
It was a bit of challenge though. The 3M Reclosable Fasteners wouldn't stick to the SSD due to its rubbery finish. I had to superglue the fasteners to the SSD. I was this close 🀏 to stripping the rubber off the S7 Shield. πŸ˜€

not sure if you tried 3M Command Hanging Strips, that seems to work for my T7 Shield that's stuck to my TV cabinet but because of the ridges on the T7 its a bit of a pain and rocky. But for a flat SSD like Kingston the 3M Command worked pretty well

You got there though and it will hold, that's the important thing!

Thank you, brother.
