VIOFO App Updates

In the previous Beta version, everything was exactly the same.
You can ignore this and leave Bluetooth turned off in both the old and new versions of the app.
To use the Beta version of the application, you just need to turn on Wi-Fi.
Clearly not exactly, as with the previous version, by turning off BT, I could connect to the camera.
This u/d won't get past the screens shown.

Just connected to the A119M Pro without turning on Bluetooth.
No connection issues.

In the Android Beta app, I seem to be unable to enter my password in WiFi station mode as the field seems to be limited to 16 characters? Only me?
Having the same issue. In the 15+ years I've been using wifi in my house this is the first time I have been unable to connect due to a password character limit like this. Very odd design choice.

I assume these are new FW versions, rather than new models.

V2.0, V1.5, and V1.2 are firmware versions for the A329S, A229 Pro/Plus, and A229 Ultra.
V2.0 is already available, but V1.5 and V1.2 will hopefully be released soon.

@VIOFO-Support

V.2.0.01 would be more useful if it was available offline.

Instead of having to connect app to dashcam in order to read camera settings, as now, have the app store the settings.
(The more technical amongst us may wish to comment as to the actual implementation.)

Users would then be able to check / adjust any setting even when away from the vehicle.

When the app next connected to the dashcam, any changes would be automatically transferred to the camera.

Far more convenient.

It's not a new idea; other manufacturers already do it.

🤔 How about it @viofo

How would that handle multiple cameras with different settings on each camera?

Maybe you could ask BlackVue, they make it work.

I just grabbed a camera and mic to shoot a short on how to update with the new app, but unfortunately I'm unable to connect to my A329S with this new app. I've previously been able to connect to the A119 Mini 2 and the A329T, and I've used the app to successfully update the A329T, but trying to connect to my A329S today, it keeps erroring out.

I tried deleting the app and reinstalling, but still see the same issue after connecting to the dashcam's WiFi hotspot.

Not sure what's up with the warning, especially since I can connect via the old app just fine. I can force that app to make sure it's not connected, but nothing I can do will allow me to connect via iOS. I suppose I could always try on Android, but it should work on iOS too. This is with v1.0.4.9 on iOS 26.2.1.

Turn off LTE/4G on you phone.

I have a list of problems (not documented very well) of the various problems I have had with this app but lately I found it has worked for the A329 and the A119MPro I don't have the newer models to test unfortunately.

Turn off LTE/4G on you phone.
I tried removing access to cellular data like I've done for the previous app, as well as putting the phone into airplane mode, but no luck.
This also - updated firmware. version 2.n
The A329S, like the A329T, is/was running 2.0 beta firmware already.

Have you tried

1. Reboot the iPhone (probably won't help but worth a try)

2. Reset Network settings:
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

yeah I figured you would have done all of that, but I have the occasional brain fade (to many really ) so thought you may have. Besides you have so many dashcams I'm surprised you can keep across all the oddities they have.

I have gone back thru some of my emails to viofo and the other thing I tried that you have also tried was placing the phone in airplane mode. In one iteration of their app it worked for me.

Ok have to also suggest this. VPN turned off. I'm sure you are across that too but worth mentioning it no?

If you try to connect with a new dashcam, please click the "+" to add the device.

Or you can try to manually connect the dash cam Wi-Fi.

Is there any reason for not having an option to connect to the cam with the app while connected with wifi station?

someone on Reddit mentioned it's possible if the cam has exactly specific IP set within your network because the app looks for 192.168.1.254
..adding an option to tell the app to seek for the cam on different IP would solve the problem?
