If the car has black dotted area at the top of the windshield and you can mount the Viofo camera mount, there is no dashcam less visible than Viofo because the only visible part is the lens part and for Viofo the lens part is at the very bottom at the camera. This matters too. I don't know which other form factor can have a lens at the right at the bottom end.
Being cylinder, all camera part is visible, except some cars with black dotted area where you can mount a side of the camera on the black dotted area and let only the lens visible. But that Vantrue is just big and that stupid big shinny lens area is making it more visible.
Well, yes and no. The Viofo would look less visible on the black dotted area, but would be invisible to me because the rear view mirror is in the way of my view from the driver seat, also the rear view mirror would obstruct the rear facing camera. Besides, I already have my BlackVue mounted there.
If I were to make a suggestion for a future model, I would go for a small clamp for the roof liner with a ball pivot so the camera could be angled in different directions. The connecting cable would not need to be more than 6 inches.
The big round part surrounding the lens... yeah... I get you on that, but it does become less noticeable when covered with a CPL.
