@kiwigene you are comparing megabits / second camera bitrate Vs Megabytes/second for the memory card write speed.
Though strange things are a foot in this relation i have never seen a camera ( dash or action ) write as much as 20 megabytes every second.
Say a camera record 400 megabyte big files ( 3 minute in length ) divide that by 180 ( seconds ) to find that it have been recording 2.2 megabytes every second to do that.
I said strange cuz i have seen cameras not liking a memory card that clearly should have more than enough write speed
I use old 4 GB SDHC cards to update firmware on my cameras, and that have always worked just fine, but in daily use o prefer the newer SDXC memory cards.
