64GB Sandisk Ultra A1 XC I for more than one year

Also been using 64GB SanDisk XC (no issues) and just changed to using 32GB Sandisk HC (apparently designed for dash cams) although says 20MB/s so not sure if that's ok with the high bitrate?

@kiwigene you are comparing megabits / second camera bitrate Vs Megabytes/second for the memory card write speed.
Though strange things are a foot in this relation i have never seen a camera ( dash or action ) write as much as 20 megabytes every second.

Say a camera record 400 megabyte big files ( 3 minute in length ) divide that by 180 ( seconds ) to find that it have been recording 2.2 megabytes every second to do that.

I said strange cuz i have seen cameras not liking a memory card that clearly should have more than enough write speed
I use old 4 GB SDHC cards to update firmware on my cameras, and that have always worked just fine, but in daily use o prefer the newer SDXC memory cards.

Created new A119S - Stable versions 4Vj , 2Vj , 4Vh , 2Vh
ChangeLog >
https://viofo-dash-cam-modified-firmware.blogspot.com/p/download-a119s-mod-file.html
These Public Stable MODs now complete the full Bitrate range started from earlier 26Mb/s MODs with Best Image Quality and largest file size. View the ChangeLog for full details.
Requesting some short Test Footage to confirm color table is Vivid, snowing here again and without shovel.

My high Bitrate MODs create 800MB - 1.4GB 3min MP4 files, the faster the write speed the better, also the reason I always suggest changing Loop Recording from 3min to 2min to reduce huge file sizes which can cause file corruption on slower cards. I always use U3 speed cards 80-90 MB/s which is also the rating of new 32 & 64 GB VIOFO MLC C10 U3 memory cards.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their time, effort, support, respect, and team work in helping me develop an alternative to earlier unacceptable official firmware. Together we've shown image quality can be improved even without direct Menu control in a very responsive timeline. I believe our efforts to improve the A119S 1080P Dash Camera has been recognized by VIOFO and contributed to changes in recent/current official firmware for A119S , A129 , A119 , A119 Pro. One of my many goals starting this thread was to focus on support for End Users with obvious Lens issues providing firmware modifications to compensate. Along the way a Team of dedicated owners worldwide assembled ready to verify firmware stability and functionality sharing their assessments and aiding others. Together this Forum Community created something useful for themselves. VIOFO has now added Menu options for Sharpness and Bitrate which are much welcomed and hopefully continue to improve.

If you think the A119S image quality is acceptable now, you ain't seen nothing yet !

Anyone have experience with

Kingston Canvas Go 128gb?

It's giving me a "Please format SD card" error even though I formatted it with the dashcam.

A few times I had to Format 128GB cards twice in Dashcam, it works best after each format to disconnect power then reconnect for 2nd format.
Keep in mind if VIOFO hasn't added the card ID tag in the Firmware it may not be supported yet. Can also try format as FAT32 on computer.

HA I can't believed it worked! Third time was the charm :D

Seeking Beta Testers with Tinted windshield.

Many vehicle owners with Tinted front windshield have noticed reduced detail and increased motion blur in Dash Camera recorded video footage. Removing CPL Filter and adjusting Lens angle for maximum Brightness are helpful. The A119S Firmware doesn't include the Brightness setting yet but this hidden option can be modified. There are 4 Brightness tables I'd like to adjust but I don't have a tinted windshield to assess image quality changes. Plan to borrow image control code from original well balanced FW1.01 to enhance adjustments on A119 , A119 Pro , A129.
The A119S as usual is the key to constructing the best overall color image profile template.
If you are interested in testing multiple versions of Tint MODs let me know.

This Tint MOD project may also interest those driving mostly at night and Dashcams mounted on Rear Tinted window.
DCTeam Testers will verify modified firmware stability as usual.

Stock up on Beer and pretzels, the A119S MOD thread is going to get very busy very fast.
Between March and August expect more image control Menu additions and very soon hopefully higher Bitrate MODs.

Looking for ideas on new updated Logo.

Created new A119S - Beta Tint MOD versions BTa , BTb
The BT series MODs are designed for Tinted windows boosting Color and Brightness to extreme levels for improved image quality. View the A119S Download page for details.
Brightness adjustments will incrementally increase (98% - 120%) for each MOD version to match common Tint density values.
Requesting drivers with A119S mounted on Tinted windows load these MODs and verify any image improvement under all lighting conditions day and night, while parked and driving. Goal is to determine the highest acceptable Brightness level before detail degrades.
MOD-BTa - boost Brightness 140 , boost Saturation 140, improving both tinted and non-tinted window installations with slightly brighter image. (updated version March23)
MOD-BTb - boost Brightness 150 , boost Saturation 150.
MOD-BTc
Beta Testing Setup: CPL On and Off , Exposure=0 , WDR=Off , Loop=1min

Amazing achievements in 8 months in one thread for a single Dash Camera model

Indeed. And i wish other cameras had the same MOD scene going.

Here is some BTa footage (sun behind and sun on the top).
It looks brighter indeed, but oversharped (I used the normal sharpness + CPL).
It doesn't look good IMHO. I have no tint on the windshield
