VIOFO A119 MINI_2 FIRMWARE

Some of my Auto Event Detection videos are less than 700KB in file size. When I open the file and play the video, it's like a photo where it literally recorded for only 0.5s or less.

I already PMed VIOFO Support a few days ago and shared the video with them, but curious if others have the same issue.

on their page I can see V2.1_20241010, looks like a bit outdated assuming build number is date?

VIOFO will often update the firmware installed by their assembly line before offering it on their website. The last portion of the firmware version is the build date of the firmware.

I have a new unit with 20241227 its variable with 2560 x 1440P 30fps,2560 x 1440P 60fps, constant with 2560 x 1080P 30fps

I have two A119 Mini 2, both which were running the December 27, 2024 firmware. For the older Mini 2, it continues to have issues with Auto Event Detection and regular recording. Specifically, as per the attached photo, you can see that even though the unit is powered on, it has barely recorded anything in the past week. The newer, replacement Mini 2 I received from VIOFO a few months ago is working as expected.

That's the same one I posted earlier. The one that doesn't seem to work with my older Mini 2.

My camera is from 2023, and with the current firmware (20241227), it has been working quite stable for the past few days, but...
the guys at Viofo have once again disabled the 15-second pre-event buffer in AED mode! - so in the recorded sequences,
I see only 30 seconds of footage from the moment the object disappears from the camera's field of view.

2560x1440P30 HDR highly likely has constant bitrate, 2560x1440P60 - doesn't.
And 2560x1440P60 has strange artefacts, video brokes into squares, while pushing bitrate from minimum 26Mbit/s to higher rates, almost to 100Mbit/s, as on screenshots.

Yes, there will be problems.

100Mbit/s average, 140Mbit/s+ peak:

Dashcam and card managed to handle, record one minute files, when jump to 200Mbit/s - it cuts to 3 seconds files with a huge lacks of time inbetween.
I didn't check 2560x1440P30 without HDR, with HDR it is good an stable, so my conclusion: do not use firmware 20250228, or at least do not use it with 2560x1440P60.
