Anyone else having this issue?

Do you mean it says parking mode started?
My a119 mini 2 had problems with hangups and also that it automatticly starts parking mode after few minutes while driving.
checked the hk4 power supply and this is all correct.
honestly im a bit fed up with this thing, picture quality is good but firmware is rubbish.

should add that this was on 0129 firmware and 1010 aswell
when i start driving the speed/gps location is shown and after 5 minutes it just enters parking mode

On previous versions, the camera simply froze and was not recording anything at all. Latest firmware got a "guard dog", when firmware stopped working, it restarts after few minutes. That is why it says "start recording" when reinitialised.
Check how long recording gaps you have.

Yep got the same issue as I mentioned before in my previous posts.

So the A119 Mini 2 is setup with latest official firmware with parking mode set to auto detection with hardwired HK4
I'll start my car and be driving normal maybe approx 20-30 mins later while driving it will say "start recording"

Tested again today on 1010 firmware.
parking recording set to auto event detection, hooked up to car with HK4 and voltages are correct.
-start driving after 5 minutes max it says parking recording started, recording stops and since im moving it makes short (parking) clips constantly.
-disconnected the power supply to the gps module and plugged a cable in from sigarette lighter, it keeps recording normally.
-plugged hk4 back in, after few minutes it says parking recording started again.
-turned off auto event detection and set it it to 2fps recording for 8 hours, started driving and it keeps recording in normal mode.
-looks like auto event detection problem? weird that it does not happen when i plug it into the sigarette light supply.

It's an auto event detection problem. Bug has been around for over a year now.

I turned auto event detection off, but somehow it randomly starts recording during parking.
i enabled 2fps parking recording but somehow i also have some recodings during parking (nothing moving insight)
when you hear it say recording started and it records a normal file..
perhaps im better off going back to 0129?

So the issue that the camera enters parking mode while driving will not only happen when setting the parking mode to AED, but also happen when using Time-lapse or Low bitrate parking mode right? If yes, the issue may be related to the unstable ACC fuse that you connect the yellow cable to since it will not happen when supply power from your cigarette lighter. It is better to test and change another ACC fuse with a multimeter to reinstall the yellow cable to have a try.

Yes, I did not test lowbitrate mode but it happens on timelapse aswell.
I measured everything and the red + is constant and the yellow acc goed live when ignition is on.
The only thing i see happening is my car switching that switched + off after a while?
Will test again when it happens and measure on the fusebox at that very moment.
switched fuse is now on sigarette lighter.

There are no issues when low bitrate parking mode is selected, only with auto event detection. I have not used the other parking mode methods available. I use the fuse taps that you provided me with the HK4 kit.

Tested yesterday, the acc fuse is good.
the camera just seems to have a mind of its own.

It will probably work when i turn parking recording off completly but thats not why i bougth the hk4 and chose this camera.
The camera is set to timelapse 2fps recording for 4 hours, but it records close to 8 hours?! meanwhile it somehow randomly starts a few normal recordings (when something is moving insight and some when there is nothing to see)
While driving it rebooted out of nowhere and started recording again.

I chose this cam because i did not want a bulky cam on my windscreen, im a very techy person but asfar as dashcams go they just need to work.
Im looking into other brands at the moment. the 229 pro is perhaps a much better cam but im not sure i want to spend my money on viofo again.
bought the set on the viofo shop so there is no cheap fake hk4 or sd card hooked up to it.

The fact that the auto event detection bug has been around for so long does not bode well for my trust in the company.

if anyone has the top tip for a new cam? 1ch is enough for me but could be 2ch aswell
preferably not too big and 4k while we are at it.

I've been using AED mode forever.
About a year ago I turned off the camera's voice alerts because they were annoying me, so I checked the camera's correct operation by reviewing multi-day drive mode sequences - I found no errors (holes, freezes, etc.)
I had various problems described with several previous firmwares, but not with the latest one
... and I had to write about it because I finally have no reason to complain 😉)

Are you using it with the HK4 kit? I find the bug pops up after a couple ignition cycles if it's plugged in and the camera doesn't power cycle. If I power cycle the dash camera like I do when one of my cars are parked in the garage, then there's no issue with using Auto Event Detection. I should have mentioned this in my earlier posts. My apologies @VIOFO-Support.

Also what is Privacy Mode? Would be nice if we can get a changelog. @VIOFO-Support can I post the beta firmware you asked me to test?

Looks like i had the same symptoms with the hk4.
I'm testing the new firmware aswell.
are symptoms like these also known on the 229 pro for instance?

Yes, I use HK4 - without it I probably wouldn't be able to use AED mode(?)
As I mentioned - I haven't found any errors with video recording in the last few weeks, ... and now I'm just speculating:
1. @VIOFO-Support often asks for the camera's serial number in the case of reported faults - maybe VIOFO uses different batches of components in the assembly, which may differ in some reactions to certain coincidences?
2. or maybe one of my camera settings accidentally prevents such failures(?)

Yes that's what I'm thinking too. But I have two MINI 2 cameras and my friend has one, all with different purchase and presumably, build dates, and all three have the Auto Event Detection bug after a couple ignition cycles. I'm going to test their new beta firmware and see how it goes. Since they didn't say I cannot share the beta firmware publicly...

Note the camera will default to Simplified and Mandarin Chinese, so you'll have to change it back to English.

Flashed FW above, reset to default settings and using with Sandisk Max Endurance memory card.
I have tested that "new beta firmware" posted above the same issues still happens once a while.
I would drive after being parked with HK4 for 8-10hrs then randomly 15-20 minutes later i would hear "started recording" notification
