70mai 4K T800 Premium Set - 3 Channel Dashcam - Dual 4K Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 - Unboxing & First Impressions Europe

Yes, that is true, but only on 2 channel or less. 60fps is nice, but not always needed, I get better use out of a telephoto than I do with 60fps. Of course, your mileage may vary. 🙂
Understood. I am leaning towards the 70mai, but coming from a VIOFO, I am hoping I don't have buyers remorse. The picture quality on my A229 is great! Hoping for a video "boost" in my next purchase

If you goal is plate capture, then the A329T is the way to go.
You can't beat an additional telephoto lens.

If you like colors that look a bit more pleasing, then the T800 is definitely an option.
The T800 will have the "oh wow, that looks good" effect with videos.

It's also worth mentioning that the 70mai app is the best one currently out there!

My T800 has been running with the 70mai battery pack for the past weeks.
This will greatly increase the runtime compared to running the dashcam from the battery of the car.

It enters and leaves parking mode as it should. No unexpected behavior.
It does exactly what it's supposed to do. The battery also performed flawless with the Omni 4K.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes, I want to be able to capture plates and as much identifying details as possible. I do not mind the flatter colors of the Viofo. I don't need a dash cam to be vivid like a cell phone. In fact, they may be too saturated. I will say the app does look really nice from what I can see. Viofo needs a refresh! From what I understand the Viofo records in a higher bit rate. In theory, this should result in less artifacting and a clearer video for more details

If that's your goal and you don't need 4G, then take a look at the A329T. The telephoto lens is a game changer.

Yes, Viofo runs at nearly double the bitrate.
Although I haven't seen any artifacts from the T800, even in areas with many trees.

Being you have experienced both first hand, If you could only choose (afford) one, which would you choose and why?

This is a hard question.
It's a trade off in the end.

With the T800 you get the cloud features and a great app.
With the Viofo you get the awesome telephoto lens that will help out in some situations and a slightly better plate capture of the wide angle camera. But the app is not as good.

It's up to you what you value more! I can say I like X better than Y, but this won't help if you have other preferences.
Either unit does a great job from my testing the past few weeks.

Sounds like you like both!!

70mai published a list of recommended network carriers for their 70mai 4G Hardwire Kit (UP04/UP05) when in use with for example the T800 or X800.

These are just recommendations. Others will work fine as well.
In Germany, Vodafone works perfectly fine, even when it's not on the list.

Quick little update.
I just swapped the Vodafone SIM card with one from o2. It immediately connected to the internet and worked.
I will get back to this after a few weeks.

As soon as HDR is enabled, the Viofo is also 60fps.
I wouldn't make my decision based on the 60fps.

There are much more important questions you should ask yourself.
Do you want the 4G features?
Do you want 4k in the rear?
Welp, there goes my thinking 60fps is better. More of a marketing blurb it seems. 30fps vs 60fps

I uploaded a clip from the front and rear camera while driving at night in the city.

The 70mai app just got an update.
It mentions a new dashcam model and other fixes.
