viofo 329sI’m looking for a front-only dash cam for my Tesla.
Power should be supplied via USB Type-C or the cigarette lighter socket.
My main concern is durability under high interior temperatures during summer. So it needs to be a capacitor-based model (not battery-powered) to minimize any risk of overheating, swelling, or potential fire when the car is parked.
It should also be able to record the entire drive continuously without missing any footage.
Between these two models that are available in my country, which one would you recommend?

I'm not aware of this being a "you must reformat" the SD card situation. I believe it's to allow memory cards formatted on a Windows computer with the exFAT file system to work in the Elite series dash camera [complete guess]. I just sent an email asking the details of this change. It may be a few days before I get a reply due to a May holiday break for Pittasoft/BlackVue.What is the exFat support? Is that for the dashcam and do we need to reformat?
So I’m really hoping that the Elite10 retains this behaviourIf LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot are available for internet connection, Wi-Fi hotspot will be in priority. If LTE connection is preferred at all times, please remove Wi-Fi hotspot information.
Sacrebleu 😏overheated
I’ll be able to report back in 6 months when it hits 45c down under 😀Sacrebleu 😏
We also hit 25 here in a few places, but that is enough to call today the first day os summer in Denmark.
A couple of weeks ago I posted this response to this same question:I have a question about the hotspot/cellular settings: if I have the 4G/LTE accessory configured for internet access, will the camera automatically switch over to my home wifi when it’s in range?
I noticed that the user manual for several other cameras says:
So I’m really hoping that the Elite10 retains this behaviour
With regard to setting up the WiFi hotspot settings for connectivity to the BlackVue Cloud service, I've not tested that feature for a long time. The web manual states that if you have the CM100G LTE connectivity module you don't need to use the hotspot settings, but I don't know if that means they are mutually exclusive. @Vortex Radar may have more recent info/experience with this configuration.
Appreciate it, but don’t rush to test it for me. I’ve already pulled the trigger on an Elite 10 with LTE module, it will be here soonish. It will be trivial for me to test, I have an access point close to where I park the car. I’ll be sure to test it and post here if I beat you to it.A couple of weeks ago I posted this response to this same question:
I haven't had the time to test having Wi-Fi hotspot credentials in place along with using the LTE connectivity module. Looking at my Elite 9's hotspot settings via the BlackVue app, it doesn't prevent you from entering hotspot name and password info with the dash camera having a LTE connectivity module. I'll try to schedule some time next week to test this configuration.
Using the Wi-Fi hotspot feature by itself to access the BlackVue Cloud service is one use of that feature. Our question is if the BlackVue connectivity module is connected and functional will the Elite dash camera switch over to a Wi-Fi hotspot when one is within range.you can store 3 hotspots in camera and it will switch to which ever is available.
when i drive it uses my car's hotspot and when i get the the office it switches to the office wifi
The ELITE Series also prioritizes connection to the hotspot when in range.
The camera will only switch the connection to the SIM card (LTE connection) if the hotspot is not detected or loses internet connection.
If you have three hotspots saved in the camera settings, the camera will attempt to connect to one of those hotspots.
If all three hotspots are not available, the camera automatically switches to the LTE connection.
