Mio,

one question...after I deleted all the previous files in my microSD card and then copy all the files of the new transitional firmware in it, I have a message ""Initializing SD card" for a long time and nothing happens. Only the green LED lights up.
Anything I can do to it?

Format your SD card and then just copy the BLACKVUE FOLDER not the files that are in it

I just want to say "THANK YOU" to mio for helping me going from custom to original 1.005.

Here is what I did.
1. Copy only the "UPGRADE" folder in systems in the 1.003aSE into the MicroSD card folder 'systems'.
2. Plug in blackvue and let it upgrade. When complete. Run the 1.005 Setup.exe.
3. After the setup is done. Insert the microSd back into the blackvue and let it run.
4. If it doesn't work. Delete everything inside the MicroSD and insert it into the blackvue.

This should work.

transition to the original firmware from 1.0.3aE can end badly
this is best done with 1.0.3cES

Apple Mac has a zip archiver - I just use the command line OS X is just modified UNIX after all.

I haven't started playing with my new 500 yet - I've been too busy. I will let you know when I do.

I mention I got the Blackvue DR500GW the other month and then I THANK YOU for sending me the file, as I do not know how to use this/these files I ask for help, me asking for help is now a sign of one who is not grateful and a trouble maker, so what would you suggest I do if I don’t know the answer? If you remembered I sent you a friendly request for help last week but I heard nothing so asked for help here

and I'm a friendly guy who is only to happy to be of help to anyone


If its of any help, the Mac can and did un-zip the file, there are software for the Mac that can do this

Yes it is simple as that. Just copy the whole SD content into the MicroSD card. But rem to put the correct time or city zone file into the SD card.

You cant set the time only the Time Zone The GPS sets the time according to the Zone its set for Set it incorrectly and the time will be wrong as well.

A few timezone's missing - but easy to fix.


For anyone who can't find their city (for example, brisbane, Australia) use this site and check your time zone for another city (ie, I had to use a Russian city for Brisbane, Australia as it is the same time zone) ; http://www.timegenie.com/utc.time

My GPS has spoilt and I cant detect the correct time zone. Any solution?
