Ddpai m6 plus

Just uncompressed the e-dog tar.gz, it seems it's only uncompressed as is in the SD card, it contains audio messages in .pcm files (that can be opened as raw 11Khz 16 bit mono files in Audacity). The audio is in Chinese (of course) but I don't know if the geodata is for china only, as I don't know the format used in the tt160518.dat and tt160518.idx files. The enterprising hacker could replace the audio files by any other language, but without the database format, it's useless.
I guess I will disable e-dog for the time being.

I know the DDPai M6+ has a smartphone app, but for those of you who like to view the videos and GPS data on your Mac or Windows PC, I've added DDPai M6+ support to Dashcam Viewer v2.1.8.

Dashcam Viewer v2.1.9 was released today to address a bug in reading the DDPai M6+ GPS files. It will make Dashcam Viewer look for both ".gpx" and "_D.gpx" files in the "103gps" directory. Apparently the DDPai M6+ sometimes sticks _D in the gpx filenames. Not sure why since I don't own this dashcam nor do I have it's user's manual. Apparently there is a .git directory in the 103gps directory as well but I am ignoring files in there. I am not sure how the .git files figure into the movie list in the "100video" directory. Anyway, if there are still issues loading the gpx files let me know.

Note: only the Windows version of DV is compatible with the DDPai M6+ MP4 movie format.

Excellent, THANK YOU !

The .git file is in fact a tar archive.

I've had my m6 plus for a couple of week now. When I first got it I had an iPhone 4 and the tracking maps worked fine and when I took a photo it said at the top of the photo where it was taken. I've now got a Samsung s7 and have reinstalled the app and Now it just shows a blue background on the tracks. It gives a distance etc and the line of the route travelled but you can't actually see where you traveled as it's as if Google maps isn't working on the tracks. If you connect to the camera it will show you your current position on the dashboard. It also gives no info on the photos. Any ideas where Im going wrong?

I have the same issue. Techmoan had an iOS device that showed the correct map behind the GPS path - presumably constructed from the GPS files.

If you can see the latitude and longitude of the location shown on the map, you will find that it is on the same latitude line but the longitude is assumed to be west of the prime meridian.

Greenwich which is 0° - any point west of this line has a negative longitude value, any point East of this line has a positive value.

In my case, I appear in Norfolk when I am in Nottingham. The same latitude, but with the value of the longitude treated as + when it should be -.

If anyone has a format / class structure of the GPS file, then I expect it has the correct values recorded and it is the android app (which appears to be very buggy) that needs updating.

I am emailing the app developers and will leave same comment on the play store.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

Just seen this on their fb page. I figure this is the issue were having?

Latest firmware update also made the GPS logging better (for the most part) :
- no more uneeded spaces before the custom waypoint message
- $GPGGA in addition to the $GPRMC messages
- new $GPSENDTIME message at the end of the log files

@Pixel K., are the files still not compliant with the standard? Or are they working on fixing that?

Latest firmware update also made the GPS logging better (for the most part) :
- $GPGGA in addition to the $GPRMC messages

That's good news. The GPGGA message means the dashcam is recording additional parameters. These include Altitude, HDOP (GPS positional accuracy), and Number of Sats In View. Dashcam Viewer recognizes the GPGGA tag so if this tag is present additional graphs and widgets will appear, like so:

dcv_extended_info2.jpg
In the above displays, notice the drop in GPS number-of-satellites-in-view and positional accuracy when going under the overpass (this was from a BlackVue dashcam).

Being a data geek, I like it when the manufacturers add these extra metrics. :) Only a handful do.

John

Just be advised, the data are stored in a different directory; 106sport

I'll attach a couple.

So i bought this camera and have been using it for a couple of weeks now. It is my first dash cam and i went for it on the back on the review from Techmoan.
So far it seems to be working fine however for some reason the video seems to be "inverted?" I'm sure when i first used it the video was the right way round, but now it's not. Just to be clear, if i sit in the car looking out the windscreen from my driveway, the car that is parked on the road out front is to my right. On the live video feed and the video itself the parked car is on the left... This may well be a newbie thing (yes, me), but doesn't seem right. Any ideas what i may have done wrong?

Thanks

Mavrik

The gps log still contains bad formatted message, but at least they are usable by most programs now. They still are named .gpx, but aren't gpx files, just NMEA logs, at least it's a move in the right direction.

The camera (or mount) has an orientation sensor for sure, The first video taken upside down on my desk (with the mount down) went the good side up. All the other videos in my car (with the camera upside down, mount glued on the windscreen) are also the right side up.

And I have no horizontal inversion in the car either (didn't check on the desk, sorry).

Under camera settings there is an option left/right orientation. It's enabled by default. Turn it off.

Hello,

I'd like to know how to get the DDPai M6 Plus to turn off after its been parked. Is there a way to accomplish this in the camera's settings? I'm not interested in the camera's park-mode/time lapse capabilities because I don't want to buy a separate battery. Right now I have the camera connected to the cigarette lighter fuse port which is powered all the time and I'd like to keep it that way if possible.

Thank you
