I wonder what the values for the individual frames was in that A12 night footage, sure brighter is allways better.
But if exposure timings remain 1:30 second, then it dont matter not even if the footage is as bright as daylight, with such a long exposure timing things at the edge of the footage will still be blurred.
Exposure timing night or day should never go below 1:250 second, and it would offcourse be even better if exposure timing was even faster than that.

Some one need to have a batch of CMOS chips made that the special sauce that guy came up with to make CMOS 1000X more light sensetive.
Daytime sunshine footage - ISO 50 / 1:60000 second exposure timing
Daytime cloudy footage - ISO 100 - 200 / 1:50000 second exposure timing
Nighttime footage - ISO 800 - 1200 / 1:500 second exposure timing

Which mean for each second the camera is recording ( day or night ) the most of that second the camera is waiting for permission to snap the next frame of the 30 needed to fill that second of footage.

I look forward to seeing the night footage on these - Dome still seem to be using the lens with a lot of chroma noise at the edges - my G90 was the same.

I shot some daytime video in 4k recently on my phone and the quality was great on the 2560x1440 screen I have here - the 4k upgrade will happen next year hopefully

From memory the A12 uses a smaller manufacturing type so it should run cooler and use less power than an equivalent A7 - it's designed for wearable cameras more than dashcams I think. It supports the new 2560x1440 mode
