How to get parking mode to work?

Thanks.

I have re read Chucks answers and others and I finally have got it.

I have to down load these 2 files

FWA329WW.bin for the front

And

LD98630A.bin (for the rear)

Add both to same SD card and put into the camera and will update firmware instantly..

From what I understand even though I have already updated the front camera it wont do any harm redoing it again.

NEGATIVE!

Find and DL the Firmware for the A329S and NOTHING else.

Here it is again, and it is the same firmware I am using... https://www.viofo.com/pages/firmware?s=A329S

Ahhj I got it wrong again....

Ok so I would use ONLY:
FWA329S.bin
And NOT:
LD98530A.bin
And not the A329WW (EVEN THOUHH ALREADY INSTALLED IT)
?

Here's the thing - you must first format the SD card before loading any firmware onto it... SO -
You can DL and install the LD98530A.bin first and then DL and install the A329S firmware, I'm
just thinking that is "probably" an unnecessary step, especially since the LD98530A.bin is 1 year old.

However, you are still going to have to do the Quick Format prior to each DL anyway, so... 🤷‍♂️

Thanks Finnigan.
Yes I have come a long way since I started (doesnt feel like it but shouldn't be hard on myself) Not bad for someone who can do technical things I guess..

Ideas dreading the format and updating the firmwear as knew it would take me ages.

So now I will format the sd card again and get rid of the LD98530A.bin And the A329WW and just the FWA329S.bin correct and there is no seperate firmwear for my rear camera correct?

I'm so close now.

But YES, you want to end up with the FWA329S.bin - and you don't do anything for the Rear Cam
because the Rear Cam always uses whatever Firmware is installed in the Main Cam.

@Finnegan and @Forester25 are correct.
You need to get the WW firmware out of your camera, and the correct A329S firmware in there.

Technically the WW firmware will work, but it will most likely be problematic in the future if you ever decide to add the IR Interior camera.
Or there is another firmware update down the road that is specific to A329S.
If you leave the WW firmware in there you will never be able to update to any potential A329S firmware using the OTA APP.
That’s why I’ve been pleading with you to get the correct firmware in there from the start, (fruit of the poisonous tree).

Firmware in A329S is ONLY in the FRONT / MAIN unit.
Only older cameras like A229 Pro & A229 Plus & A129 Plus have separate firmware for the rear cameras.
I’ve been begging VIOFO to stop putting processors in remote cameras because it always complicates the firmware update process.
Same with Type-C & 3.5mm connectors for remote cameras.
Hopefully everything onward will be MCX Coax.

Your link is for the A329TC.
That is the wrong firmware. Lol
You need A329S.
This is getting wild.

Ok i got it wrong for the 100th time again.

1) first format the SD card before loading any firmware onto it.
2l DL and install the LD98530A.bin first
From.this link

3) then DL and install the A329S firmware

FWA329S.bin

4).add to the dash cam camera.

Things seem to be going off the rails a bit regarding the firmware for this dash camera. I have a lot of experience with the A329S series of dash cameras since I was one of the first prototype A329S testers.

First off, the LD98530A.bin file is NOT a rear camera firmware. The A329S rear camera does not have its own firmware file. The LD98530A.bin file is available from VIOFO so that customers that want to switch their A329S to an A329T, or to any other variant of the A329S series. The LD98530B.bin file is a "loader file". When the dash camera powers on, one of the things the boot loader code/logic does [which is what is contained in the LD98530A.bin file] is that it looks on the micro SD card for the firmware a properly named firmware file. Unfortunately, the loader code can only look for one firmware filename, so that is why there is a LD98530A.bin file for each sub-model firmware filename. If firmware file filename the boot loader is expecting to see is present, the boot loader logic initiates the loading of the new firmware from the FWA329[S/T/TC/WW].bin file on the memory card.

If you have an A329S with A329S firmware installed, that means the LD98530A.bin file for the "S" firmware is present in the dash camera. If you want to force a switch from the "S" to the "WW" for example, you must install the WW version of the "LD98530A.bin" file first. Then next power on the dash camera will look for the FWA329WW.bin file instead of the FWA329S.bin firmware file. In your case, you most likely want to installed the "S" version of the LD98530A.bin file and then load the FWA329S.bin firmware. That's so the firmware various menu entries match up with the functionality of an A329S and it will properly support an interior camera if you decide to add one later on.

I have a video on this topic where I demonstrate the conversion of an A329S to an A329T, but the process is the same going from an A329WW to an A329S firmware. You just have to download and use the A329S related files.

@Vortext Radar also has a video about this topic:

That should work. As I said I THINK the LD98530A.bin is an unnecessary step but I also think
it can't hurt because you already have the WW Firmware installed. Try is and let us know
what happens.

It's only 6pm here, I have all night! 😉

By any chance are you available for a phone call?
Maybe I can walk you through this over the phone 🤣

Right have now got both the LD98530A.bin and the FWA329S.bin on a newly formated sd card.
Going into the car now to update the firmwear. Wish me luck.
Will report back in a few mins with hopefully good news.
In the mean time how can I know these two updates are sucessful if I manage jt and no errors occur.
It's 11pm here so hope its sorted quickly so can get to bed. 😀

Bring the camera in the house.

The first power on for the dash camera will load the LD98530A.bin file. It will appear as if "nothing" happened, but it actually loaded the LD98530A.bin file. You'll need to power down and then power on the dash camera again to get it to install the FWA329S.bin firmware file.

Yes I am happy to do this if you can please. If you can do WhatsApp.? Ill message you my number.
I was joking, sorry.
This is the craziest tech support thread we've ever had on DCT since 2020.

Ok so I plugged in the sd card and nothing happened..just started to record
...
It didn't instantly update the firmware like bedore???
