@Razer glad to hear you are following us, hopefully the blogs give you some insight.
It is stressful and now with the camera getting closer its becoming a mad house. I'm about to release an article on it as well soon so hopefully gives you more of an insight.

Okay i have a little more footage comming your way.
The firmware is the latest versions ( september 2 ) format was 1080/60 - S fine ( 22000kbps )
But sadly flipping in movie maker leave me with 1080/30 footage that look worse than the raw upside down footage, so i wont put that up for preview.
So beside the grill recording where i was able to hold the camera upside down, the files from Mega will be upside down as i do not want to release the flipped recordings as they comm off very bad.

As soon as i will be able to flip recordings in camera i will be able to release proper RAW footage that come strait off the camera.
And trust me i have looked high and low to see if there was some way i could mount the camera upside down on my recordings from outside my car, but sadly none of the old mounts and parts from old dash and action cameras i had lying around let me do this.

I do seem to recall there is a flip 180 option in VLC player for when you playback.

X cam on the grill, as you can see there is a little WB ( i think thats the problem ) issues for the first minute or so, but after that the cam get in the right gear and the little portable charcoal grill look fine.

Hi. This morning it rained a lot in Bucharest and slow traffic was present.
So, I changed my route to go to the "classic" underpass to see how X Cam is doing at slow speed.
The video is recorded with Sep 2 Firmware and default image settings, full HD @ 60fps.

I can't see how it could possibly be YouTube, the bottom of the 'j' in "padwanjoe" has clearly been chopped off by the date/time below it, even on 1080 on my PC. The 'p' is chopped too but that is not so obvious. I spotted it in the embedded version so it is quite obvious. Nice choice of font

For dashcam use, I would want the WDR to brighten the dark bits a little more than that, not for action cam use though since it starts to look unnatural.

True, and it is probably easily fixed, but it is one of the few things that potential customers can actually see and judge the camera by, it shows a lack of care by the developers, even if you don't spot the error you might still judge the text to have poor readability because of it. Also wondering if the name should be right aligned with the time, it is a little out for no obvious reason?

image quality looks like it's coming along nicely

@Padwanjoe: How good would you say the color rendering is, does it match what your eyes saw?
@Nigel: you're right about fixing such things before release, but that's where we can help without being Beta-testers.
@All Beta-Testers: Please keep posting your Vids because the more eyes there are watching, the more details like this can be found and fixed before release and that is what everybody wants!

I did notice a 'halo' effect (actually just a visible ring) where a raindrop centered on a bright spot, but it is tiny and not objectionable like the large 'halos' around lights I see in many night videos. I agree, the IQ looks excellent to me.

Hey everyone
Cheers @Nigel for spotting the J problem and allignment problem - we've passed this on and this will be sorted next firmware update (it just missed todays).

We'll be releasing the app tonight for anyone who wants to download and have a look at it. It's pretty simple and simple looking but that's what I wanted. Simple is easier and quicker in my opinion.

The IQ is better than we anticipated and as such we are pushing it more. We want the 'darker' areas at night slightly pushed up in exposure but not massively so we are gonna have a tinker with that.

Nice job with the video. The work you put into this is obvious. For me, seeing how these perform in inclement weather, as well as good, is very informative. Too often we only see the best of weather and scenes. Nice countryside for driving!

I will start to flex my upload so i am "pumped" when i will be able to provide more comprenensive footage.

Now i just need to get the weather gods in line too, cuz i really prefer to serve up refelction free footage from a camera on the outside of my car.

As a alternative i might try to put the camera low on my windshield to minimise reflections ( ill experiment on this solution on my next drive )

although it's nicer to view reflection free footage it's not really a good indicator of what to expect for people that want to buy the camera for regular behind the window dashcam use
