JooVuu X Camera

JooVuu can respond, but somewhere he said "soon". He wants to be sure the beta testing is thorough enough and I like that concept no matter how long he takes to be satisfied with the results.

Patience my friend, he will get us there soon :)

Phil

Just tryin' to get a handle on the timeline. Do you think we are talking months ...... perhaps 2016 ..... maybe 2017?

My impression is weeks to a month, maybe 2, however I cannot speak for anyone but me. The Beta testing seems to show the few initial issues noted being resolved OK, but his contact at the chip manufacturer has left the firm so that could slow things down. Some things are beyond his control, same as with any manufacturer.

Soon come, mon, soon come.
Phil

Any word on when this will be shipping? I looked over the threads and the website but did not see a timeline for beginning sales. Did I miss it?

We'll be releasing before this Christmas. We should have an update this week about roughly how long and we'll also be opening up the soon for some early reviews by members on here/other websites. We'll launch the new website this week which will have a lot more information on it, but the camera is as @SawMaster says 'coming soon'.

Cheers,

Dan

Looks promising

Dan start out with this in his fist post:

Dan confirm:

Dan keep his promise::D
Southern Hemisphere Summer Solstice
(Australia, New Zealand, South America, Southern Africa)

To be fair to Dan, I think the clue in his original post was the ETA at the front, as in 'Estimated Time of Arrival'. ;)

People ask when the x-cam will be ready. So that's why make that post to have a little fun. It was not meant to be sarcastic or respect less to Dan.
I'm sure he will start to sell as soon as possible, but when the camera is ready.
He know if it full of bugs, he will get negative comment here and lot of recommendation if it good one.
I understand why he will be careful to put out, when it's ready.

Finalizing pricing this week.

Pre-orders will be available within 6 weeks or less.

Kind regards,

Dan

Dan

Now you have my attention.

I figure this will not be a $60 cam. As I understand it the hardware is more expensive which makes the cam cost and worth more than that.

I just hope you have a battery option available for purchase when the x-cam finally becomes available. It would be a nice option for out of vehicle use.

Can the firmware be modified to detect if it has a battery or super-cap installed? The voltages should be slightly different between the 2.

Hi @country_hick
This will NOT be a $60 camera at all. The hardware is of a a far higher caliber than 95% of cameras coming out of China, plus we are doing 2 extra independent tests on all the camera before we ship them plus our own tests so we are hoping to minimize problems. Not only that but we already have a pretty good roadmap for the camera and we have a unique customer support idea we want to implement.

The camera will come with a battery option though to begin with this will have to be bought separately and installed yourself. The battery options we should be offering are 150, 320, 500, 800mAh.

Regarding the firmware, the last I heard is yes and the last I tested it was yes, but this was a while ago and our firmware has changed completely and this has not been tested recently but I'll get that looked into today.

Cheers,

Dan

what's your thinking with the multiple battery size options?

Some people have expressed running it as an action camera (500/800mah) and some people want the batteries to use it as a car camera (150/320). We may refine these but these are just covering our bases at the moment.

Cheers,

Dan

I would have thought the large batteries were worthwhile, for car use a battery is a battery and a small one is no less a liability than a large one, very small batteries like the 150 are actually more difficult to deal with reliably than a larger one from a charging and battery health perspective, obviously for car use the capacitor would be the way to go anyway but appreciate some people may see it as a dual purpose product

We may get rid of the 150mAh as you are right, reliability and durability is volatile. To be fair we have not focussed massively on the sizes of battery we will offer. We'll release the price on Friday along with the new website (we hope) - just adding the final touches.

Cheers,

Dan

Question to x-cam.
1. Will the Electronic Image Stabilization always be enable.
2. FOV how does it work. Will a 80 degree angle, have a better image if you zoom in, than a 155 degree angle. What about the focus point.

1) At the moment yes it is always enabled - unlike DLSRs that have actual physical image stabilization electronic adds no weight...further more it does not 'crop' the video but does some magic to make it smoother.
2) The FOV means you can get the shot you want without having to crop. Obviously with 155 there will be more fisheye, we're working with the dewarp but there's always some fisheye, but the 90 degree video will have no fisheye. The point of focus is always the centre.

Kind regards,

Dan

I guess I was not good enough to describe my question. Will a 80 degree angle photo/video have the same amount of pixel as a 155 degree angle.

@hans hendarto
We have responded to you multiple times and again today and emailed you.

If you are not receiving these please PM me on here.

Here's what the final case will look like...there may be a few minor tweaks but we're very happy with it.

Full metal lens module/base. Metal lens holder slightly higher than the lens to reduce sun interference from the side and also reduce damage to lens if lens drops lens first.

That's also the 'cap' clip we'll be selling.

Any feedback is welcome as we can still make some adjustments.

Cheers,

Dan
