Mobius support thread and Tech Guide (post all problems/help requests here) Read posts #1-8 first

I have finally established with Eletoponline365 that they are simply out of stock of the Mobius B camera. I requested that they send me a message when it's back in stock. They replied that I should contact them next month.

I've taken your advice & placed an order with Banggood for 1 Mobius B camera (not just lens module) & 1 SuperCap. The 5% discount worked on the SuperCap but not on the camera ... something to do with the price having already been discounted.

Total $77.68 including shipping to UK.

Did your package show a declared value of, say, $50 to avoid import duties?

I thought you already had a B lens? or you wanting another?

I'm buying the second Mobius B for 'tail gunner' duties. Also to experiment with different settings on each, so that I may compare the results more objectively, e.g...

* Low Bitrate vs Standard Bitrate

* Standard Bitrate vs High Bitrate

* Low Bitrate vs High Bitrate

* Colour vs Monochrome

Ten days ago I ordered some Mobius parts from Banggood, my first time ordering from them and much to my pleasant surprise everything showed up in today's mail, all in good order. This is some of the fastest free shipping to the Northeastern US from China I have experienced in years of buying Asian goods. I see that they have the B lens in stock and the price is a minimum of 10 USD less than any price I currently see for it on eBay and this is without the available 5% discount you can get from them. So Russ, if the issue here is that you are in the market for a Mobius B lens module forget about hassling with Eletoponline365 for the time being and click your way over to Banggood.

WEY! Super Cap just arrived :) took 12 days (8 working days) to arrive. Going to fit it today

Can someone supply a link to the banggood store please? Just to make sure I have the right place.

Glad to hear you've gone ahead and ordered. I think you'll be pleased with their service. One thing to note is that I've received (as of this morning) a few promotional emails from them including a link to a Mobius RC aircraft video someone posted on their site. Hopefully, they honor their own "unsubscribe" links.

As to the value of the package, it was itemized at sums rather lower than actually billed and listed as "RC Quadcopter parts" and "RC Multi-rotor accessories".

Perhaps later when I have more time I will explain some of the "parts" I ordered which included a whole new circuit board as that's a bit of a story so for the time being I'll just say that I ordered two super-capacitors and one of them is installed and operating flawlessly so far after several hours of indoor testing using a standard USB power supply. The unit powers up, begins recording, saves the files and then disconnects when the power is removed, as it should.

Glad to hear that shipping to the UK was also prompt!

As I mentioned in my last post the super-cap seems to function just fine when tested indoors although it remains to be seen if operation in my vehicle is problematic in any way. Seems like the perfect mod for the Mobius.
I had been aware of Banggood but had never ordered from them before so I'd like to thank you ByrOn for bringing the availability of the well priced super-cap and other Mobius items to our attention as well as that handy discount code!

No problemo! :D

I do like to hunt for the bargains, banggood provided me with just that :)

I installed the supercap a few hours ago and went on a 30 minute round trip, it done the job and saved the last file fine. One thing i did notice was my date and time were out, i cant remember if i updated the settings after i installed the capacitor which would make it obvious why the date and time was not syncd.

Since then i have plugged it back into the GUI and updated the time and date.

When i get back from work tomorrow i will check if it held the date and time, maybe it needs a good running first to be able to keep the clock up to date. Tomorrow will confirm that.

Regarding the dodgy subcription emails... i didnt bother signing up to the website, i just ordered as a guest and paid via PayPal, i have not received anything since my dispatch email :)

So far, I've had no issues with the date function. The GUI should do the trick, all things being equal.

Just turned it on for a couple of mins in car and pulled micro sd out to have a look and the date and time is fine :) All good here

We should get banggood added to lists!

Banggood was just added to the developer authorized seller list very recently, along with HobbyKing.

I updated the vendor list on post #2

V1.13 is a big upgrade with new features like motion detect, improved color and multiple adjustments. Definitely upgrade, just avoid the BETA v1.17

I'm so glad I did. I don't know if it's just a placebo effect, but I think the video quality, especially in low light is much better than 0.59. On 0.59 I would find the camera pixellating quite a lot, where as on 1.13 it's much better for me, I can actually read reg plates in low light now. (I know this goes against what niko said! :))

Personally I dont mind paying a bit more from novotm (amazon & buymobius.com).
I get the product quickly.
I get great customer service from someone "local".
But mostly I am helping one of the people (Tom Frank*) who dedicates his time, with no pay, and makes the mobius such a great little camera.
Without Tom Frank and Isoprop this camera would be much less useful, have little or no community support, and would most likely not exist as a very full featured (and adding) dashcam.

*I have never seen Tom Frank advertise himself as the seller. I respect that he may worry what others may think about his close connection to the camera and wanted to keep himself separate. It's very admirable. However, I believe I should be allowed to support the people that make my life a bit happier and others should have that option as well.

Blink Blink Blink

My camera has started blinking the top LED in red, ~1pps,
You can turn it off and it stops, but otherwise...

With external power/computer:
  1. Plug it in
  2. short Blue
  3. yellow flashing a bit, intermixed with green
  4. then pulsing red.

On battery/standalone:
  1. power on
  2. shortf blue
  3. pulsing red
The rear one never blinks as you'd expect it to, except for battery test.

I've never found a definitive table of Blinkology for this camera, and welcome suggestions....

Sounds SD card related. Is it recording video? It happened two times to me: once when I dropped the camera and it dislodged the SD card and again when I filled it with photos from time lapse. Apparently it doesn't loop over photos.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles, UU. Have you tried reviewing the instruction manual? The most recent version was updated 2/26/14. It can be found - HERE (PDF). If there are other blinking behaviors than those listed below or the usual firmware loading sequences most likely there is indeed a problem. I suppose it is possible there are "secret" blink sequences known only to the developer but if so, we may never know.

Here's a screen shot of the "Blinkology" page from the manual.

I have, but alas my sequence is not mentioned, hence my query....

I can read from, and write to, the flash; but even replacing the sysconfig made no change.

Sounds SD card related.

Good call; the .Trash subdir is corrupted and the camera is not deleting it as it should.

does your card contain photos and videos?

I noticed the GUI updated yesterday to v.2.0.3.5. Anyone know the difference?
