New Mount Option For A119S

It's black, I guess the color is washed out from the flash.

Without the foam it will vibrate after the plastic stretches. Glass is curved and slowly pulls/wraps. Believe me you'll want it eventually

I'll do just as you say. Thank you again..

Funny you should ask as I just opened my mail and got one in hand as you posted this. I took a couple of quick pictures of it laying on my kitchen table with my cellphone for you to get an idea of how it "might" go. You'd need to use one of the Adhesive backs to attach the Camera to it. I won't get to actually try it for a couple of days as my memory card is not here yet and i don't have one to use,so i can't give you an opinion on this mount just yet.

I Just had the chance to try out this Suction cup mount. The Suction part of it is really great, but personally i can't recommend this mount. I took several videos with it and you can see the mount shaking in the video and while looking at it mounted in the car. There seems to be about 1/8" or less of free play where the bolt goes through and it can't be tightened any further. It is enough free play to cause the camera to bounce like crazy. I will wait for the one from Viofo and give that a try.

Did you flip the flat plate 180? If you use it as is there will be too much of a pendulum effect causing the shake as you described. Take the thumbscrew bolt out and flip it around until it's more of a compact shape.

No, i hadn't tried flipping the flat plate around. I couldn't visualize how it would look that way. It seemed to me it would put the Camera further away from the windshield? I can still mess around with it though. I'm still trying to get the Dash cam Viewer software to work on my Windows 7 Pro,64 bit Laptop but not having much luck yet.

You can also try mounting it sideways to stiffen up the forward/backward pendulum effect.

My Laptop is pretty decent. I7 Processor,16GB ram, 2 GB Dedicated video card, etc. I have the latest version of Dash Cam viewer running,it just seems like an old, Antiquated program? It is sluggish and not smooth at all. My Windows media player plays all the files just fine. I just can't see the GPS info, but that's all ok with me.

Report your problem in the DashCamViewer A119S thread.

You might just need to install a codec pack. I like http://shark007.net
DashCamViewer is a cross platform development application. The developer is a native Mac user though.

Wrong thread, really, but... If you're really not bothered about GPS info, that's fine, however, a solution I've found is to register DashCam Viewer (I know, it's pants on a PC), export the GPS info into the video folder, then load your videos into Registrator Viewer. Use the Google Maps fixed version of Registrator Viewer detailed in this thread: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...registrationviewer-windows.27756/#post-324451 and pretty much everything works as it should.

EDIT: or, save your pennies and use http://robtrehy.co.uk/blogs/novatrakt/ to extract the GPS data.

Thanks for taking the time to write all of this info here. As of this time i'm just waiting for the new Firmware update that VIOFO told me would allow GPS to be turned off in the menu. I don't think i'm smart enough to follow these instructions, but i appreciate you posting the info. Perhaps it will help other users on here.

PLEASE NOTE: Using with version 1.1. firmware in this version will pull the day of the month from the file name. To use NovaTrakt successfully, please only use the original filenames.
This method was chosen as to not delay the release of version 2.3, so that users with 2.02 firmware can use NovaTrakt.

It has been brought to my attention that NovaTrakt is compatible with VIOFO A119S running version 1.0.1 firmware, and suspect NovaTrakt 2.3 is compatible with A119S running version 1.2 firmware. I do not own an A119S so am unable to test this.

The only requirement is that you have .NET Framework 4.5.2 installed on your PC.

Please note: There is a bug in firmware version 2.01 which means NovaTrakt is incompatible with it.

I'm using A119S firmware V1.2, Registrator Viewer 6.0.0.22 (as in the link above) and Nova Track 2.4. I can confirm that the GPS info imports fine into Registrator Viewer. If you've the slightest interest in the GPS side, give it a try because it really isn't tricky at all; feel free to message me if you'd like any help with it.

Just purchased the viofo suction mount. [ https://www.amazon.com/gp/B071W6F1RQ ] Mainly for the purpose of using the A119s in my wife's car for trips or a rental car, etc. I have the GPS mount for my primary car.
Just purchased camera and received it, so not even installed yet lol!
I will be very interested in how the suction mount works out and hopefully you will be able to pot your thoughts!

Does any have a website that sells the suction mount that will ship to Australia?

I would like to have it by end of the month when I go interstate for work and use a hired car but it probably won't arrive in time so I'll probably wait for more sellers to sell it. Also bought a bunch of 3M sticky pads to replace it on the go so I should be fine for a while.

I've been using the suction mount for the past 2 days and there's a buzzing sound coming from the mount/dashcam when I'm trying on rough surfaces at 80+km/h. Is this normal for all suction mounts or is it a defect? I brought along the tape mount to use if needed but since it's a rental car it might be annoying to remove at the end.
