2nd batch package looks same as the 1st batch and the camera and accessories are nicely packed and protected:
Package contents:
1. Lens with new housing that has tabs to lock on the mini HDMI cable and 3M mount.
(A small pouch with lens housing screw on tabs)
2. Camera Body and 3m mount with strain relief locking system.
3. 12v to dual 5v USB converter.
4. custom mini HDMI to mini HDMI cable.
5. USB to mini USB cable.
6. Positive power cable with waterproof inline fuse.
7. Negative/ground cable.
8. Scotch lock connectors.
9. Zip ties.
10. Quick start guide.
11. Pier28 Business Card.
So what's the difference in 2nd batch of BulletHD BIKER PRO camera compared to 1st?
There is no difference in camera hardware and software along with most of the included accessories.
There were few instances of video record issues in the 1st batch due to the optic nerve cable (custom tapered mini HDMI cable) becoming loose due to vibrations (from road/engine).
To prevent that from happening, there are two major changes in the 2nd batch:
1. There is new strain relief and lock on the body mount that screws around the mini USB and mini HDMI cable.
This works very well and the cables are locked in place very tight. I couldn't even budge it at all when pulling pretty hard. [4 screws and a compatible Allen wrench is included].
The camera body housing is same in 1st and 2nd batches so those with 1st batch can add the new mount with strain relief lock if needed.
2. The lens side also now has small tabs built into the housing that snaps into the notch of mini HDMI cable to prevent it from becoming loose. This is housing change so can't add on the 1st batch lens.
These two changes will ensure that the connection from lens to camera body is always tight and secure.
Also, the mini HDMI cable was enhanced for better contact and water resistance.
Below picture shows the new built-in tabs on the lens housing and strain relief lock on the body:
Here are few pictures of 1st batch lens and 2nd batch lens that shows the tabs on the 2nd batch:
Both lenses and 2nd batch camera body:
Here's the lens lock pieces that screws on together around the cable and lens housing's tabs:
Here's how they look when properly attached:
Video tests coming soon...
