Site Not Available

A friend's site using a cheaper host had Tapatalk problems after an upgrade, took a month to get the bugs out, and a few random people still get odd-looking screens once they connect. The webhost did the work so I have no clue how they fixed it.

Tapatalk just doesn't seem to play well with some site software, nobody else reported problems that weren't quickly resolved, so I think that part of this is a fault somewhere in Tapatalk's coding. All this is way over my head so that's all I can offer as help.

It's not just about tapatalk.
Not one browser works from my phone.
I did factory reset several times and it's either fatal error (40) or page cannot be displayed.

i don't use tapatalk - i try to keep the number of apps (aka security holes) on my phone to a minimum. i use chrome on my android 5.1.1 device to access this site and it was working fine both last night and this morning, on both the t-mobile network and on my home wifi.

I'll try from older phone and see if it works.

Yeah, I get the same thing from one of my other phones at home on the same wireless network, so it doesn't appear to be a DNS issue. Last week when the site changed, I kept getting errors for this site on all my home devices until I deleted the DNS cache on my server. Both phones are using chrome, though different versions. I tried deleting the site storage in chrome, but it doesn't seem to help. I can access it from my PCs and other devices, so I haven't been too focused on it and was just hoping it will fix itself later, since it "seems" to be a server side issue.

works from mobile browser on my phone that doesn't work via tapatalk, not as quick and easy but at least a workaround, hope it can be fixed though

It's not an SSL cert problem is it - the order of the chain can cause issues for some Android devices?

The SSL certificate chain may be the problem. I just updated that now. Does the problem still exist?

That might make sense since I don't use Android, and I don't have any recent access problems. (iPhone 6/Tapatalk)

Okay, after resetting few times, it still doesn't work on Opera, Dolphin, Android's built in browsers.
Then I tried other browsers and interestingly, it works with Chrome.
Still no other browsers can connect.

No idea why it works with Chrome.

still not working here unfortunately
Try chrome and see if it works.

yeah it works via chrome (it did before also) just not via tapatalk

I wonder why tapatalk only breaks for part of the users. Are you on your iPhone or Android right now? No problems via iOS today here. (Replying via tapatalk now via iPhone)

Android 5.1 it works but the password has to be re-entered about every 36 hours, Android 4.4 it doesn't work at all, worked faultlessly on both prior to the site move

haven't got my iPhone out to check but it's only an iPhone 5 and the screen is too small anyway so don't want to use it

I'm running 4.3 on my galaxy note 2 and nothing works except chrome.

Also tried older phone with 3.4 and it failed with this error:
Data connectivity error
Could not establish secure connection

something is wrong but feedback suggests that Tapatalk support isn't the best so not much chance of that getting sorted, not sure on what the issue is with mobile browsers, I can at least use that but it's very fiddly

It does look like the cert chains changed recently from 4 down to 3?

From a couple of weeks ago:

And then now (it's missing the AddTrust External CA Root from the end now)

I'm not sure if the missing AddTrust External CA Root is causing problems for some Android apps?

From what I've read Android does sound like it can be a pain in the arse with certain root certs.

Is it worth disabling SSL (or at least stopping all http redirections to https) temporarily just to see if that gets the dodgy Android devices working?

getting help from Tapatalk seems like a challenge, they just respond with generic stuff like install latest package
