you have brick and mortar stores
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers...g-evo-plus-256gb-microsd-card-sdxc-u3/482213/
and you have online stores.

wonder what one to choose??

For others playing along - to find a closer online/storefront place:

Couldn't justify the high price of jb though.

I just preordered one. Seems like $100 for a 128gb card, youd think there would be insurance companies for these, lol.
But how many hours of the highest quality video will fit on a 128gb card before it starts erasing old files?

128gb would be around 8 hours before starting to recycle

I'd have trouble out-laying that amount purely from having two cards fail in the past that are now in the bin. (Not Samsung, but they weren't a cheap brand.)

Given the prices are usually dropping, I'd make do with a smaller capacity card and look to get something larger (if required) when the prices drop.

Jokiin, any updates on availability in Australia?

U3 refers to write speed. How does that mean they're in any way better (or worse) for dashcam use that requires no such speed?

they're using the same type of memory internally in most models as used in the high Endurance cards, in the top tier bands at least

well sandisk are just not suitable for dashcams.

Fairdinkum and wow fella........... Marketing spin is an amazing thing............ I just want one that works and it does

spin is an amazing thing

What is frighting is when people start to believe their own spin, this are often seen in politics where it can lead to big problems.
Also why i strongly oppose the use of spin doctors, or even the existence of that word itself.

No, they are not using MLC. And no one has been able to cram more than 64GB of MLC NAND on a microSD card.

That doesn't mean other cards aren't perfectly serviceable, but they are not the same at all. Class/U1/U3 has nothing at all to do with the type of memory but exclusively its data throughout rates.

OK...its the 3rd week of September:) Any shipping updates for USA?

I better start saving up if there's only 2 months to go before release. ;)

I wanted to point out the above post is sarcasm for the record. (Might not be obvious to all)

I just had a customer worried it was delayed 2 months after reading the above and sent a private message asking.
