Hello BCHobbyist,

as your wish I downloaded the new Beta 6Nt and did a comparison of all 3 Sharpness settings.
Conditions: Daytime, cloudy, parking lot.
All other settings are default of the firmware, also date+time.

Using soft sharpness with my lens gives a much better picture. Edge detection is definitely at the bit too high limit, but the picture has the good crispy back again.

Good 6Ns test footage, agreed Edge158 is too high for this MOD, suspending changes to 6Ns until review of new 6Nt and 6Nu using alternate Sharpness adjustment points. thanks for these clips, 6Ns was extreme limit test.

Good early 6Nt test footage, the best is Soft, the others have too much halo, making adjustments for 6Nu, thanks for the early clips very helpful.
The Parking Lot test track is perfect for IQ assessment, very good choice.

Send all test footage you recorded. The more test footage I can compare the more accurate and fewer the adjustments. We may use 6Ns again since it uses very unique base code.

thats called Dash Reflection or Motion Blur in low light conditions, and expected and normal for everyone.
compare only static image for blurry-left Lens issue. If its not seen in static image and seems to disappear its motion blur or low light/low bit rate mush.
Also you may be seeing the Dash Reflection since there is no CPL filter so left side does look worse, focus however is perfect.

There is some weird thing shown in these clips. The cam seems to have trouble with the whites of the clouds and cant seem to decide what it wants to do with them. seem overblown. Other strange effects are heading directly into the sun. The stupid time change now affects my collection footage on way home from work. Lots of driving directly into the sun.

I certainly wouldn't be happy with those video's especially in midday light.

Frogger321 please purchase a CPL and do the same route. If you was UK I could have sent you a FREE Viofo CPL to use.

Can I ask you to do some more car park footage in good light. ( Sunlight )

MOD 6Nr
1080p/60fps, EV 0, WDR Off, Normal sharpness. Home made .CPL Hoya Filter fitted.
This firmware is still best for my lens and home made CPL to date.

Cloudy - Parking Lot
Not my proudest parking job... Contemplated parking at that first spot, but would have blocked in the blue Civic. Then saw the Hyundai blocking in the other car anyway on the other side, so did like a 4 point turn in the parking lot.

Should be a bunch of close ups on cars for sharpness and edge.

I'm not really the biggest fan of the colouration in this MOD, everything is very dark, muted, and dull. It seems like a lot of the life has been sucked out of it. It was a cloudy day, so that adds to it, but none of the colours are accurate. The red F150 and yellow Camaro in the parking lot didn't look like that. The picture is much darker than it was at noon today, even taking into account the overcast, and my CPL. 6Nr/6Ns were more realistic.

Great 6Ns test footage, adjustments needed to Edge and Saturation, since we have zero Contrast control will lower Saturation from 118 to 110 with goal of reducing blown-out whites. thanks for sharing.

Very useful 6Ns test footage, changes to Edge and reduce the vivid color saturation will help improve IQ. This MOD was extreme values, thanks for sharing all those well labeled clips, great assortment.
Can purge your online cloud storage for 6N series test footage.
Download replacement 6Nv below, should be much better.

Interesting 6Nt road test footage, drivers really like to get in your way. Absolutely agree color is poor in last 3 MODs due to -20pt saturation reduction to lessen white-outs. Using Sat110 for next MOD-6Nv, looks good so far but a long way from vivid colors. We'll have to decide what level of saturation to use going forward. Keep in mind anyone can request custom MOD with high/low color depth.
