Where did you mount the camera? Post your pictures

Hey all. I figured I'd start here for my first post. I actually stalked this site while trying to pick out which dash cam to get. I ended up going with the Mobius Standard View (Some might think that's crazy talk.) I found a camera mount, much like a GoPro mount for $10 and bought a 3 pack of 3M bases for $17. Here are a couple photos:

Hi sorry to bring up such an old comment. . I'm going to go with a Mobius. Does your mount have a quick release feature? Like can you easily and quickly slide the camera on and off? Like in about 1 second? I will need to dash in and out of my car with the cam occasionally.

If so, do you mind telling me where you got it?

Newbie dash cam user here, have a Blacksys CF-100 in my Peugeot 207sw. Have only installed front cam and external GPS so far, rear cam will have to wait for now. Not the tidiest install but will be good enough. Will get one of those add-a-fuse 12v accessory socket things and make a better go of it later. Hopefully should be easy as one of the fuse boxes is inside the glovebox (which is probably why it's so tiny!). Can only just get a decent angle on the camera due to angle of the windscreen and limitation of the mount. It will also get PlastiDip stealth treatment at a later date once I'm confident enough that I won't have to return it.

It is a 2 part mount. The bit that sticks to the window and then the bit you screw onto the Mobius. It takes about 2 seconds to pinch the top of the mount and then you just slide it downward. The camera holds it's position with another screw, so you just slide it back into place, no fuss with where it's pointing. I've had it in a number of months and the only issue I ran into was once I got it in position, I put a dab of super glue on the screws that tighten down.

Using an iOttie suction pad to mount it to the dotted section. Only been there for 2 days but it held up to -20c overnight temp (feels like -31 with the wind). I'll be posting a review of the iOttie when I've had it there longer.

Same thing I posted over in the "Mobius mounting solutions" thread:

When the Mobius arrived, I was surprised at how small and light it was. I guess I expected it to be at least a little bigger. For this reason (and because I had a bunch laying around) I decided to use Command Dual Lock strips. I'm not sure that I'd necessarily recommend this exact setup, but I'm hoping that it works for me. It seems like it will hold fine considering its hardly any weight and the strips should peal off without damaging the headliner.

I gave myself a large platform on the headliner and only two small points actually on the camera. I did this so that it holds well but I can move it easily if the angle is bad.

Here are some pictures of the setup. It's almost pointless to include the shots from the outside, since the reflection off the glass is so bad that it makes it impossible to see anything inside the car (sorry for that). I will say that it's almost completely unnoticeable if you're not looking for it, due to only a tiny bit being visible at a normal standing viewing angle.

Here's a sample clip of what it sees. It's not the best angle in the world but the low profile form factor of not having to use a mount is exactly what I was going for.

Just done a first fix into a Peugeot 3008 using an old Brobit swivel mount, needs some adapting to get lens closer to screen, very large/deep screen and large sensor unit in centre, cant mount either side or above as sensor unit blocks lens

:D

That's to avoid reflection and to the left to cover all of my spots as I mounted it in the passenger side.

Here are pictures from my installation.

that would drive me nuts having that huge camera hanging down there like that

Me too...I do love a Lukas Camera...I just hate that they are getting so big...small is discreet...discreet is good.

Since I traded in the car and got a truck, here is the install in the truck:

Can anyone recommend which dash cam to buy and where to set it up so it's barely visible to me? I rarely use my visor so I don't want to put one there.

I have a 2012 honda civic si and I had the G1W dashcam, which was awesome... however, when it rains/snows the wipers don't clear the area of the windshield that the camera is pointing out of. The camera was mounted behind the rear view mirror.

is there any short mount for this cam?

you'd have to custom make something, that T mount style is reasonably common, there might be something off another model that could work
