Hacking Q3H (allwinner v3 - Camdroid)

For people who have a camera that just has a white screen after removing the new camera from its package or after a bad update, I made a video to try to fix this. Links to tools and drivers files are in the description text of the video.

"How to recover (unbrick) an allwinner v3 4k action camera that has white screen boot"

, have this sensor sony 179A can i upgrade or mod my firmware to get better performance or image?
possibly. other people have used a hex (binary) editor for example IDA Pro to edit files under /system/vendor and /system/lib and supposedly improved video image and sound but I'm not good at doing that yet. ;) Otherwise, please first make a backup of your original firmware by getting ADB drivers and using the script
see - https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/hacking-q3h-allwinner-v3-camdroid.20507/page-11#post-301213
and compare your model and firmware to page 1, post #8 of goprawn
see - https://www.goprawn.com/forum/allwi...mnivision-ov4689-action-cameras?p=130#post130
and if you woud like to, be careful too choose a similar model firmware there, and flash it to see if it would improve anything. Don't worry, the camera can not be "bricked".

Hi all,
I have a Q3H-2 Action Camera acquired from Banggood and I would like to get some better results in video capture.
According to the specifications, it is equipped with Sony IMX179 image sensor and Allwinner V3S processor.
Can I upgrade my camera with your Q3H or F60B flash images firmware (.fex file)?

Meanwhile, I make a firmware backup. It is available for download at:
EDIT:
New download link:
camera bricked with this firm , and its the same

okay. i downloaded your firm and NMD firm. yours is "fuxin4k30imx179s_sdv-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.fjj.20160621.113349" with imx179S sensor chip, but NMD is "fuxin4k30imx179_sdv-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.fjj.20160509.180916" with imx179 (not S) sensor chip. your camera probably needs a "imx179S.ko" file but it is missing from NMD firmware (2-system.img). this is likely the cause of the camera stuck on white screen. try to flash your backup firm file or flash a firm copy from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4tyaJWIqCb_eDRTQjRweFRVcEE/view [2016-06-21 (shows 20160621V03)]. plz try to follow the video. buena suerte :)

okay. do not use sdcard, and do not use battery -- remove (take out) sdcard and battery. disconnect (unhook) usb cable. hold ↑↑ UP button on camera. connect USB cable. download (descarger) files:

When you turn on the camera and press 'UP', you are entering the camera's recovery mode. Update your drivers to F60B_recovery_driver. Then try to follow the steps provided by Petesimon in the youtube video. Download makeimg scripts and PhoenixSuit. Use your original full_img.fex and makeimg scripts to create a .img image file. Now flash your camera with PhoenixSuit using this .img file.

I've been to confirm, my original firmware does not have the module imx179s.ko. You can use squashfs_unmake script to extract the contents of my 2-system.img. Copy your imx179s.ko module to vendor\modules\ and re-compress the 2-system.img file using squashfs_unmake script. You should also replace the script.bin info using scriptbin_read and scriptbin_write scripts. All those tools are available at:

Have you selected the fw file on Phoenix before connecting the camera?
I think it's normal your PC recognize your camera as a USB device(VID_1f3a_PID_efe8).
