Hi, the new firmware version for the A229Pro/Plus is finally coming. :D
Let's test to find new features added to it.

The links where you can download the firmware file are below:

Please make sure to update the front camera and rear camera together.

The Android APP also can be installed to match the new firmware from this link: https://we.tl/t-i8wX4ApSy3
For the Apple user, you may still need to wait for several days, please rest assured that it will not be a long time.

You may ask what features are added, check this blog and you will know everything: https://viofo.com/blog/firmware-updates-viofo-a229-pro-a229-plus-version-v13-beta-b119.html

Great news, thank you! I just updated one of my A229 Pros which went fine. It asked to format my card after updating and setting the new time zone settings.

The iOS app immediately crashes when trying to connect, but the Android one works. Not every new setting is in the app yet which is understandable.

For some reason my front cam footage is now flipped upside down and I’m not sure how to fix that.

The IR cam was also off by default and I had to reenable it in the camera.

Some default settings like rear cam exposure at +1 was surprising. Was that always the case?

Did you reset the camera to default settings after the firmware update?

Not saying that will fix it, just asking so that everyone knows...

It is good practice to factory reset your settings after a firmware update, in case any settings get mistranslated on upgrade.

I wonder how much power the GPS Off in Parking Mode saves.

4. Added 21:9 Resolution

Finally, oh yes! :cigar:

i just tried a factory reset and looks like my front cam is now oriented correctly. Hopefully this resolves other issues like it switching to 21:9 on its own after I switched from 16:9 2CH, enabled the interior cam, then restarted. Lots of funky stuff going on before the factory reset lol.

Thank you! I’ve been wanting a setting to disable interior camera while driving so I can have maximum bitrate on the front cam. But then enable it for parking mode to capture sides of the car for door dings etc.

Amazing
Have you mounted interior cam in a way that does both sides? I just have mine doing one side and would like both sides.

We Transfer links didn't work for me...

Updated front and rear cameras. During the update, the A229 Pro rebooted twice and all the settings
were reset to factory settings and everything was set to zero.
I didn't do a factory reset.

I don’t know about improvements in daytime HDR, but the nighttime HDR of the A229 Plus has not improved at all. :(

A229 Plus seems to be over exposed in that image.

I just watched:
.
The A229 Plus won agains the Vantrue N4 Pro in nearly every test, so it is not bad, but it could definitely be better, the A229 Pro was nearly always much better, while the A229 Plus was only a little better than the N4 Pro!

However the A229 Pro was winning in daylight because of the Auto HDR, if daylight HDR now works even better than HDR Off then the difference is going to be even bigger, unless the A229 Plus is over exposed in daylight too...

Needs someone with two identical cameras to test with HDR On on one camera and HDR Off on the other camera, to see the differences.

Seems that it is improved, at least on static scenes. Maybe @Panzer Platform can agree soon.
@Panzer Platform does have two A229 Pros...

Wow A229 is bad vs Mini

I also tested the Vantrue N4 Pro. At speeds of up to 60 km/h, he read the license plates of oncoming cars at night.
Viofo A229 Plus does not read license plates of oncoming cars at night at any speed.

Screenshots from N4 Pro can be viewed here:
