Viofo A119s changes

if the product is stable with good feedback then it's far less risky, gearbest are shocking if things don't work with their partial refund to your gearbest wallet, nonsense replies etc so the type of place you really only want to buy something that is tried and tested before you get onboard

the cost of the products haven't come down, if anything they've increased, the Chinese resellers will sell stuff at cost just to get the sale, for them pretty much once it's sold that's the end of anything to do with the product so there's no allowance made for warranty, support etc
Nope. If you check OzBargain and read the GearBest rep there they keep getting A119 units in after each sale. And this is the second time it's been reduced to $95 as a deal. They said the other day they're getting another 300 units in for the second time.

May work with other resellers but not with this product with GearBest. That of course may change in the near future but for now it ain't. For now I haven't had any issues with them or needing to claim warranty but again that might change.

familiar with Ozbargain, I know geabest have been kicked off there in the past, (not the first place they've been booted from after members complained) but they have someone in Melbourne that has been acting as the go between recently which seems to help, so far at least

the prices have increased recently, (LCD prices are double what they were two months ago, other components also) you may see lower sell prices but that's just the Chinese sellers doing whatever it takes to sell stuff, costs have increased

correct-a-mundo about being booted off, yeah them and Geekbuying now have Aussie reps that relay the info. Good times abound.

This product is pretty safe as it's fairly well sorted already, will likely be something else that will be their downfall, the sales process is no problem with these sellers, it's when they have problem product that the wheels fall off

I see GB has it at $79.90 now......

Good deals but I think I need to buy the standalone GPS mount. What are the advantages of having the GPS on it anyway.

Just go ahead with buying from china, soon or very soon there will be a person, there gonna pay $30 to get it shipped back and complaining it takes more than 8 weeks to get it back.

When it comes to lens choices I think higher quality video will win over the ability to swing the lens left and right. (Major re-tooling / housing re-design)

I think my prayer have been heard about adjustment of lens.;) @viofo manage with shoehorn and a gentle hand to get it into a S119 box

not sure your prayer has been answered just yet, maybe wait until the pics get updated ;)
That's why I saved and uploaded it.:D

@viofo you better give a check up on you specification list also.

Driving through the desert by moonlight with no headlights, and it still records an image that looks almost like daylight :D Slight lack of colour in the image, but maybe that is the colour of moonlight...

like those old Abbot & Costello movies where the night scenes were fimed during the day with a filter on the lens and you could see the long shadows from the sun :)

Thanks for point the mistake, we'd like to offer a free a119s to you to say thank you.

Congrats @Viking. I'll just be here waiting to buy two of them, ideally with CPL filters from day 1...

Maybe I should point out mistakes on the A119S site too? :)

In the "Capacitor Power Supply" section, it states "...A119S effectively prevent car heating up in summer..." when it doesn't prevent the car from heating up, it should probably read something like: "...A119S effectively prevents the dangers lithium batteries pose when vehicles heat up in summer, providing a safer driving environment for you."

Also, not a mistake, but just amusing, in the comparison between 30fps and 60fps, the 30fps image is reversed, which doesn't generally happen with 30fps. :D Changes "JATOT" to "TOTAL".

Maybe:"
"Adopting super capacitors in place of a lithium battery results in both longer lifespan and removal of the risks from lithium battery failure in high in-car summer temperatures."

- everyone knows what happens when lithium batteries fail! (Even if the chances of fire from a dashcam battery are actually almost zero!)

However it has made "Citroen" on the lower grill readable instead of only readable in the mirror of the person in front!

Of course changing from 30 fps to 60 fps doesn't reduce exposure time so the doesn't reduce the amount of motion blur, so the explanation of why the image is sharper is wrong. It is the faster exposure time due to the more sensitive sensor that reduces the motion blur, you still get the advantage even if you set it to record at 30fps for a longer record time.

I was trying to leave the statement as close to the original as possible, but yes. I mean, it is high temperatures that cause issues, whether they occur in summer or not - some places have temperatures hot enough year round to be problematic.

Right, I could have gone a bunch of ways on the 30p vs 60p spot - I chose to go with the mirroring as I laughed when I saw that, but you are correct that 30fps doesn't mean it is blurry.

LOL is someone trying to score a freebie too? :p

The description is fine, don't have to be pedantic here. These ads are usually written in Chinese-English interpretation, not by someone with Master Degree in English.

As for those comparison images, they are usually just photoshopped for ad purpose, not real samples captured by the dashcams obviously. This has been applied to so many of other dashcam ads in the past.
