Viofo A119s changes

On the contrary, an accurate translation that's grammatically correct and aptly punctuated will go a long way towards building a positive brand image. The little details are what differentiate a great overall user experience from a bad or mediocre one.

absolutely, you can have a great product but if it comes with instructions in broken English and there are errors in the artwork etc then the end user is automatically on guard that they are likely dealing with a questionable product

Thanks for point the mistake, we'd like to offer a free a119s to you to say thank you.

WOW! I didn't expect that. This is the first time, that someone who doesn't know me, give me a gadgets I really have been looking forward to get.
I was looking at capture your action site to see if there was any update, mostly to see if it was possible to make a pre order and then swing by Viofo to see if there was extra information.
Well there was.

BIG THANKS @viofo

Damn, did I just lose a sale! :(

Not sure about that.
My US family has been talking about getting a dashcams and I might going to Denmark next summer and I know there don't like the import tax and fee, but my suitcase is a tax free zone.

You have been a active retailer here and I like to support that, unless you don't want me as costumer:rolleyes:

PS: Spy has not been to active here in the forum, so you gonna be stuck with me.:)

Maybe this is an advantage if under your avatar there is no dashcam. I think you already can write you have Viofo A119S. In this way viofo (without an @ tag because he reads this thread so is no need to tag him for any small thing) can not go back and not give you the gift.
Also I have the A119S (factory sample) under my avatar, but I have one in reality which just amazed me tonight with this video:

enjoy,

That is impressive, I have the pre-production A119 that VIOFO sent me which I really like, but I can see that I will be buying a 119S when they are readily available.

That shows the difference in sensitivity nicely, but could do with some moonlight to illuminate the beach and water... you have missed the full moon this month.

However once you put your headlights on the images look almost the same. Can you post a couple of frame grabs showing the difference in motion blur on licence plates/rotating wheels etc under street lights when moving reasonably fast? That should be the real advantage of the A119s, unless you want to record when parked in an unlit car park at night!

What resolution and frame rate did you use? Were both the A119 and the A119S on default settings?

Both cameras are with default settings except I enabled 1080p 60FPS on both cameras. Please consider that A119S is with a beta firmware.
I am always making transparent comparisons and I am not using ever any trick. Always compared cameras are set ip with same settings. If in some comparison I did something different I am writing right at the beginning of the video description but if that setting is affecting the comparison I am not uploading the videos.

enjoy,
Mtz

Did I read somewhere that Viofo said the GPS module from the A119S and the A119 will be different. But also I'm not sure was there an update to that saying that both cams can use the same GPS module?

Yes, from here, where VIOFO said "From recently A119 batch, the GPS module is same as A119S module now."

I'm not sure how to interpret that though - if they changed the A119 GPS so new versions of it work with the A119S or if all old versions work with it as well.

It's my understanding that only new batches of GPS mounts will work with both the A119 and A119S. I think it's a signal strength thing, but not positive.

Congrats @Viking. I'll just be here waiting to buy two of them, ideally with CPL filters from day 1...

Maybe I should point out mistakes on the A119S site too? :)

In the "Capacitor Power Supply" section, it states "...A119S effectively prevent car heating up in summer..." when it doesn't prevent the car from heating up, it should probably read something like: "...A119S effectively prevents the dangers lithium batteries pose when vehicles heat up in summer, providing a safer driving environment for you."

Well, it looks like @viofo took my feedback to correct their Capacitor Power Supply language.

is it possible to get a larger non recording notification show we really can tell if its stopped recording?

Thanks for your advice.
Another user send the right sentence to us to improve. Before I didn't notice your also point this, thank you very much.

Is there any other kind? :p

Clearly you have not been in Denmark or England in the summer, normally they are just as off-putting as our winters.
last proper summer i can recall ( due to 2 weeks in a row with temperatures over 25 deg C ) was in 2014.

And last winter we got a total of 2 inches of snow in my area, and so far this winter we gotten 1/4 inch of snow here.
