Viofo A229 Duo received

Same audio noises was then I enable Wifi 5Ghz. Use 2.4Ghz, it is not affected. Reported to Bill but still no answer.

I uploaded the video with the cracking and buzzing sound.
That is not normal, and although the SD card can affect the audio, it should not cause that much noise.

Your mounting seems very wobbly, are you sure the noise is not caused by poor mounting or cables vibrating?

It is well glued with 3M. Our street is a bit bumpy. The cables are well hidden, but there is the camera of the car just above, would that influence it? Someone also said use 2.4Ghz instead of 5Ghz. Could it also have something to do with that?

The cables are good attached. The cars camera and rain sensor is just above the Viofo dashcam. But there are more dashcam users who attached the camera same way as I did. ‍♂️

I guess the plastic it is mounted to is vibrating a bit at that speed.

I would be interested to see some video from the highway, probably it is fine, but it would be interesting to see...

The cars camera and rain sensor is just above the Viofo dashcam.

Do you have Lidar (for automatic collision avoidance?)
Just wondering if that could be causing some interference when it fires the laser...
If you could test the A229 away from the car camera, maybe plug it into a USB powerbank with it off the mount, then move it closer and further away, then we can know if the car camera is the cause if it gets worse as it gets closer...

I've not seen anyone else reporting this, apart from the above mention of 5GHz.

Thanks for posting the images.

Someone also said use 2.4Ghz instead of 5Ghz. Could it also have something to do with that?
It is feasible, but most people testing are using 5GHz, because 2.4GHz is not always fast enough to avoid buffering on the live stream, and most other people have not seen this problem.

I will try it on the highway, and plug it in to the cigarette lighter away from the car camera. And yes the car have automatic collision avoidance.

Here is my video about enabling Wi-Fi 5Ghz(noise present) , then connecting viofo app(more noises due constant data transferring) and at the end of video Wifi was turn off via button and noise dissapear(really short part of video, sorry, believe me on all regular video no noise cause wifi constantly turn off) . Car does not move, engine does not started so it is not vibrations.

Does sound similar!
Maybe everyone else has missed it since they don't use wifi while driving?
...

Wifi can use different channels (frequencies) and for some cases it can not affect to audio. So it can be noticed not for anyone. Viofo may check it and disable some frequencies in next firmware update.

All the cars I've come across have had it installed in the front bumper.

Try turning off Wi-Fi altogether to exclude it from the list of suspects.;)

With the cigarette lighter usb cable there are no problems. No clicking, buzzing sound. With the hardwire cable there are problems. The camera turns off after starting, or will not start at all when the ignition is on. Manually start, then after a few seconds it turns off. And if it stays on for a while, it is with the clicking and crackling buzzing sound. The hardwire cable is connected properly by me.

Next video you can see how it is turning off after manually started.

I checked at home, any external interference was excluded, I confirm that there is parasitic noise, at 2.4 GHz the noise is greater than at 5 GHz.

First 15 sec 2.4GHz, second 15 sec 5GHz

After transferring the antenna, I checked it on the car, the silence is perfect on all ranges !!

I bought a new hardwire hk4 cable and replaced the old one. It now works as it should. What has remained is as soon as I turn on the WiFi, the camera records with helicopter sound. I don't know why, maybe it's the software, I don’t know. Nevertheless, I am happy that I can travel tomorrow morning (2.5 days) to my holiday address and the camera works normally.

Here the video uploaded. After approximately 42 seconds I enabled the wifi, and you will hear the helicopter sound.

You do not need to turn on Wifi while driving, if you do not really need it.
The DVR will heat up less and there will be no extra noise in the video.
