I’ve been onto Nextbase and lost my patience totally. I’ve done everything they said! Format card, Nextbase at that! Firmware update!
issue after issue after issue. They are now upset with my feedbac´. The latest audacity by a girl which won’t accept they ice a dodgy camera which is hard wired is that the App has a bug! It shows Bluetooth connected Live recording feed with Red message stating Bluetooth disabled!! It messes around all the time, didn’t recorded When I needed it, when I get in the car it’s making a beeping noise, it freezes!
I need take it back to Halfords, I’ve got 2 one in each car and they are both as useless as the other!!
the single worse thing I’ve ever bought over rated expensive and I’ve just seen hundreds of dissatisfied customers with every problem imaginable and lives had them all
Oh but it’s never ever their faulty cameras fault!!
I have 2 units both with rear cameras & hard wire kits. One has been fully fitted since last September, the other just front unit since January. Have put problems I have encountered on this thread, although the last firmware upgrade has solved most of the freezing problems but still not 100%. I try to run with minimal settings which does seem to help (sound alerts, Alexa etc). Changed the sd cards as they said there were known problems which sort of helped.
Radio is always cutting out with rear camera although support seem uninterested.
Freezing issue is widely reported, but they seem to make out it is rare.
Most of the extra features simply don't work properly.
I bought the units as seemed best on market from reviews but totally regret it. Support is there but don't really help. Did buy as are a British company & seemed to have a good reputation but wish I had gone elsewhere.
Will fit the second rear camera soon (just hope the radio isn't affected & freezing made worse).
Format the card every couple of weeks as does help but loses all info if required at a later date (could save to a computer if required).
Definitely not a install & forget piece of equipment & the times I have wanted to look at info to then find it has frozen are countless.
The battery drain issue, (denied by Nextbase), did occur as the unit had froze on a screen showing the camera view. When it reaches a certain voltage it is supposed to switch off, (difficult for it to do when froze & no buttons etc working.
Car had been unused for a few days & stop/start does cause increased current usage. Battery was charged & has been ok & tested since. It was left for about 5 days unused but issue could arise at airport parking etc if travelling. Now I will turn off if not being used for a few days (again defeats one of the reasons I bought it!).
