Pre-orders

@Hombré it has always been retailer...I need it changed to manufacturer haha.

Rightyo then.............. Seeeeeee, this is what happens after months of reading and researching this forum things can become a tad blurry.......... A shed load of drinks during todays aussie bathurst 1000 means its now my shout for you as well 😀

.......The GPS is INCLUDED for pre-orders (after that it won't be but then the price will be cheaper). ......

How much difference will it make to the price?
I'm leaning towards preferring not to have GPS in cams so as to not draw a lot of attention to my speed in the minutes leading up to any event.
I don't go around significantly speeding, but sometimes +5% over the limit happens and I'd rather not have it there for someone to query; if it wasn't stamped on the video they probably wouldn't notice a few mph over.

When do I have to order if I want the GPS enabled version from pier28?
What's the situation with GPS? I thought I read it somewhere that it's going to be delayed?

You can disable Speed OSD in the menu. We should probably give an option to disable GPS logging completely as another option.

It seems the GPS delay is fixed now, that's good news it will be a an extra bonus for pre-orders. I'll update our listings when I can.

But if there's a significant price difference I'd be inclined to wait until the non-GPS version appears, if I decide to order one.

Over the years, I've learned that it is often best to step aside and not order from a high tech product's first major production run as it is so often the case that that is where problems emerge. Once a production line is up and running for awhile and all the unforeseen manufacturing glitches get sorted out, the quality of what comes off the line becomes more reliably consistent. I believe anyone who has ever had any experience with manufacturing knows exactly what I am talking about.

Then again, I guess if there is a price incentive to pre-order many of us would be happy to do so, also knowing that we are dealing with people who we know will stand behind the product.

So, in light of this perhaps Dan can provide some clarification about the price difference for those of us who are considering a pre-order?

Yes, I generally agree. At college, a number of us often used the phrase: never be first, never be last, never volunteer.

But for someone who has worked hard to bring a product to market I would be more sympathetic to being a bit of a guinea pig.

As a keen amateur, apart from the minor concern regarding GPS (because I could simply wait for a non-GPs version) my two current significant question marks over the product are:

1. How cars and other objects look with the different user-selectable angles for field of view (initial pics look OK but I'd like to see pics of cars and/or road signs).

2. The lens is listed as f2.8 which sounds a bit small for poorer light conditions (higher f-number generally indicating a smaller lens, and with a smaller lens comes less light into the camera).

I burned my fingers a couple of timew beeing erly adopter of new hardware ( computer )
Seem to be the price to pay no matter if its a huge company well known company or a little one newcommer.

The lens is f2.0 https://www.joovuu-x.com/specifications/ 🙂

Ah, that sounds better.

Looks like there's a typo on one of your pages - screenshot capture attached below, second row of the table - with page address in the address bar (got to it via the 'buy now' tab). Better get that changed in case it causes someone else to hesitate. 🙂

Also the sensor is listed as OV4869 but should that be OV4689?

Updated. Cheers for that!

Just received my second JooVuu Newsletter since yesterday. Today's "letter" is essentially identical but offers 5% OFF with a supplied code.
Umm....Glad I didn't order yesterday. 🙂 If I wait 'til tomorrow, will there be a 10% OFF discount? 😀

Seriously though, the 5% discount would be most welcome. Does it apply to USA buyers as well if not ordered directly through JooVuu in the UK?

Are you serious....... Nobody cares about discounting at this stage and neither should you so mellow out....... Literally.

JooVuu sends a discount offer and you tell me there is something wrong in asking about the offer. Why don't you mellow out?

A word of warning when ordering from JooVuu and dealing with Dan.
I've purchased two cameras from them, been directly responsible for five more orders and recommended them to many more but all that was before I had a problem trying to get a camera looked at under warranty.

Initially they had me jumping through hoops, which would have been fine if it worked, but when that didn't help they/he stopped responding to emails and direct messages on their own forums. I've now got Trading Standards involved to try get some help.

I have seen posts where they seem to be willing to help, which was encouraging, but after all I've been through I'll never recommend them again. I know this is probably no loss to them, but I just thought people should know what they're getting involved with especially as this is their own build.

I unsuscribed the newsletter, i allways do that as i have no need for ppl telling what i might want or can save money on, and i really want to stay below 10 e-mails every week.

I allso dont get "snailmail" commercials and free newspapers here, i really think they should be banned by law as its a huge waste of resources in this day and age.
I dont do any form of bargin hunting, i think if i was forced to do that then either my personal economy was fooked, or my country was fooked as i would then not be able to live a normal life, and i think looking for bargins to make things work is abnormal ( at least by Danish mesures )

The latter beeing true today as i have to dive into my savings every month to make ends meet, and only abnormal thing i have is my little car, and my internet.
Okay i ackknowlege having internet and car while not having a job really dont allow for me to whine, and i wish i wouldent, but things just keep nagging me.

Other unimployed or sick ppl can have the same i have now + smoke this and that and do the legal drugs too, and have the new fruit-company phone,,,,,,, i dont get what it is i am doing wrong.

I usually unsubscribe from "newsletters" for the same reasons you do. In fact, I didn't actually realize until yesterday that submitting my name as a beta-tester candidate would result in my "subscription". I haven't yet unsubscribed as I hadn't seen a reason and I'm OK with it for now, seeing how I know who it's coming from and why, but if "newsletters" should start arriving regularly on a consecutive daily basis they would be called SPAM, not Newsletters and we all know how we feel about SPAM.

Hi @flightclubreviews
I am sorry and it is a loss to us. I hate sharing personal stuff but some horrendous personal issues have been coming up. This is the problem of taking on the customer service yourself - if anything happens it becomes horrendous. I'm staying up late and I'll be responding asap to everything. I do apologise.

Regarding the newsletters, a newsletter went out today that should not have gone out, this was a horrendous error on my part. This was a mistake - I hate newsletters and I would NEVER send an email out two days in a row. This was a catastrophic mistake. I am incredibly sorry for this!

Dan
