To my old eyes I reckon the A119s is just a bit in front and sharper over all. I find if a number plate is in doubt, the A119s is just that bit clearer.

The FOV of the 2 cameras are different. SG looks slightly wider than the A119S.

The video quality from the A119S's first firmware has left me quite impressed. Future updates will only improve things further. A narrower FOV lens + 60 FPS, does work better towards number plate clarity and readability.

The firmware has already seen a fair bit of work before release and from what I've observed, unlike most Chinese manufacturers, VIOFO is sufficiently receptive to user feedback and does take the pain to resolve any bugs or issues reported. They regularly improve and update the firmwares for all their models. The A118C still gets updates, that says a lot IMO.

Though using the A119 housing, it's still a newly released model and a few users have reported the left or right side being a little soft or the GPS mount pins getting stuck. Till these issues are completely put to rest, you could either wait or order one from Amazon (Amazon fulfilled - with 30 day return window).

Long term reliability is something that only time will tell. But again going by what I can see here on the A119 and A118C forums, if one uses the included power supply and the right memory card, reliability issues shouldn't be a concern.

With the 3D printed mount not working out as intended for the rear install, plan on modifying a spare FPV mount that I got for the Mobius. Will add videos once I have the mounting sorted out.

A119S mounted in the rear.

FPV tilt mount modified and attached to the included A119S mount using 3M VHB. The Mobius 1 can be seen utilising the exact same mount without the modification.



Attaching a couple of stacked neodymium magnets to the included angled mount worked too but even with the A119S's lens clicked into the lowest slot, I was not getting the desired angle (too much sky).
